I ditched my chaps years ago and now wear arborist pants. I've really liked the Elvex ArborPants. Feel much more streamlined wearing the pants versus the chaps.

I'm probably going to pick up that saw and borrow your idea of using the 12" bar/blade. It's all I'd ever need for using in my truck for those "just in case" moments. Wish they made a case for it.

I’m sure, but for the amount of cutting I do a year anymore I can’t justify the price! I spent $65 total on 4 pairs pants this year and I that will probably last me 2 years!

I used my high torque impact when I was putting new hubs on and doing my suspension install. But I basically only used it for removal. Its too powerful for install. I stripped the first stud I went to put a lug on using it. A split second trigger pull and it would've been fully seated. We used the high torque at work busting nuts torqued to 1200-1400 ft for hours and it just kept eating. It's a BEAST!

Fuel M12 or M18? Why is one preferred over the other? I have a big remodel coming up and my Ryobi burned up two years ago, and within a month I’ll need to be replacing it, the place I’m remodeling has no power and I have both M12 and M18 batteries.

Oh there will be some mods all right
I always say if you're only getting one, always get m18. Always better to be overkill than lacking.

    X2 - especially for a big remodel.

IMHO if I were wrenching on cars and truck regularly the two tools I would start out with are the M12 right angle impact and the M18 mid torque gen 2 impact wrench. I have never liked air ratchets and don’t know that the battery ratchet would be of much use if you already have the right angle impact (and are just starting out).

    again my opinion.

Joe do you have a Sawzall?

I love the M12 for tighter spaces.

I’ve actually got a M18 Hackzall still in the box because I don’t know if I’ll really have a use for it that the M12 or Sawzall can’t satisfy.

    Thanks my first thought too.
yes I have a corded one, and I have a generator and an extension cord but I like to not have cords around as much as possible when working through a remodel. With the M12 I worry about the vibration on the battery holds. That seems to be a possible weak spot with the m12 tools, although I haven’t seen it yet the squeeze to release on the m12 is annoying.

M12 for $179 at HD with a 4ah battery is a pretty good deal, or I just get a M18 bare tool for $159

Both are on my save for later section of HD cart. I have a lot of Milwaukee tools on my list including the M12 caulk gun. The caulk gun I have never seen go on sale! :annoyed:

I’d have to demo the caulk gun before buying, really can’t imagine it’s very useful and might even make my life more difficult.

M18 blower is definitely my most used red tool. I just picked up the m18 fuel hackzall but haven't had a chance to run it. Feels super heavy duty.

I never liked my air ratchet either but the M12 I like a lot. So much easier to use without fighting the air hose. I also got the stubby impact - perfect for lug nuts.

You might be aware but some people replace the screws with pins so the handle is removable. I still think the box is too large for my liking though.
