When ever I hear people talking about buying a new vehicle 1 out of 10 of them are even aware that you can buy an EV. The 1 that is aware, will often shoot down the idea of buying an EV. Mostly due to the inconvenience of charging.

Let’s see the facts cus where I live 25% are buying Ev’s. Most people do know what EV’s are. For every 10 cars I see 1 is a Tesla or mach e or something else electric.

Yeah the east coast is a little slow on the uptake.

I don't think that charging is the real issue. That just happens what is perceived to be the most inconvenience associated with EVs. Unless you have a private drive way EVs are not the ideal vehicle to operate. I think it boils down to they are not interested in EVs. They do not see any advantage to operating an EV over the conventional ice vehicle.

You must live among cavemen on the East Coast if only 10% of the people you talk to are aware they can purchase EVs. Most people I know are not only aware, but interested.

Think about it, Big 3 are in Detroit. Those old crusty CEO's are blocking most EV sales.

Maybe they are aware, I think it's the lack of interest. That leads me to believe they are unaware. Belive it or not, most people have little to no interest in automobiles or transportation.

That is pretty much entirely incorrect. Those old crusty CEO's are trying to find the best way to make money off EVs and spin it into a feel good political statement about caring for the environment.

Definitely depends where you live in the USA. Check out these stats for California.

Like the EV1 right, it was a success and they took them and never tried again. Never will a GM product sit in my driveway. All 3 had a chance at making EV's, Tesla offered The patents FREE and they all laughed and said EV will never take over the ICE vehicles. The big 3 are the Big losers.

A lot of those states don't allow direct sales so basically blocked Tesla from selling cars in those states. Big 3 conglomerates got together and made the laws to stop telsa.

That's called securing a business advantage by blocking competitors and has nothing to do with blocking EV sales or production. All of those companies are banking on EVs as a huge money maker in the future.

I think this is the part of your argument that most are disagreeing with. I feel that your opinion is simply outdated.

And, the 'Big 3' are losing market share, hence their late decision to join the paradigm shift in order to survive on a global scale.

It takes a big rudder to move a big ship.

It's mostly dealerships that lobbied for those laws, along with NADA. And like others have pointed out, the big 3 are heavily invested in EV development.
