I was just venting i guess. The situation of the economy with covid and politics and corporate interests just bother me. People benefitting of other's struggles.

I got friends doing Travel nursing making 100$/hour when the hospitals they used to work at paid a third of that maybe less and worked them like dogs while they have record profits. It's alll comin' to a boil i feel like.

 

I've heard that too about the travel nursing. Crazy to think all the politics and shit have led to a shortage of people taking care of people. I'm not gonna comment more, because a lot of people have been getting banned for talking politics. @Sammie said she was doing the travel nurse thing. I hope she doesn't mind me saying. My SIL is an OR nurse, and she has mentioned it, but her and my bro have a young kid.

To be completely honest, working in the public sector as a firefighter these last 2 years; this shit has been coming a long time. It's been a downward trend, the pandemic simply accelerated the problem to a point.

This was the perfect opportunity for employers and business owners to show their employees their value.

2020: "Essential workers" "Heroes" read: folks that need to continue to work so the economy doesn't crash and essentially are sacrificial lambs to the outbreak while everyone else sits at home (Safe) and collect checks.

2022: "No one wants to work" "worker shortage"

People woke up. Realizing that you were basically exposing yourself to a virus that was killing people all over the world and being paid peanuts to do so? Nah. Then when everything is going back to "normal" there's the same ole problems pre-covid, except now there's less people expected to do the same amount work for the same pay when everything has flew upwards (taxes, home prices, rent, food, fuel, ect.).

I'd like to think this isn't a political statement, just a statement of the facts of whats happening everyday around the country.

 

There's always some sort of trade off lol.

 

And in the meantime our insurance premiums go up, hospitals charge more, doctors charge more. Plus you get to wait longer for it! I was in the hospital three times last year. I couldn't be more grateful for the nurses that gave me care and tried to make sure I expressed my gratitude, but I could also hear the stress in their voices and just in their general attitude. And then you gotta throw in the people that DGAF and have Karen expectations that make it even worse.

Now I feel like I'm in a Reddit sub.

But hey, Super Bowl 1.5 hours! I had to buy Peacock Premium for one month to be able to watch it because cable prices fucking suck!

It basically is a "handicap sticker" for trucks. It lets you get into Loading zone only parking areas.

It gets abused im sure. Its some kinda power. I didnt want it or need it. My neighbor has one on his Ram 2500 but he's got a legitimate business so i dont blame him.

 

It's definitely an inordinate number of vehicles with those tags in chucktown

 

100% they're abusing it lol. Problem is everyone uses it so it's not really getting an advantage at that point. You dont really see it too much in Columbia.
