How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Dealer called me this afternoon (Saturday)..The Army Green DCSB TRD Sport arrived today. I made deposit on Dec 30th, This truck was already allocated to them. Temp VIN showed a Build date of 1st week of January. Expected delivery was Feb 17th so it came in 5 days early. I will be picking it up Monday afternoon..

 

How do you check the temp VIN build date? I also have a VSPEC sheet from my dealer and there’s what I assume is the temp VIN on it, my truck was allegedly built yesterday on 02/11/2022

 

That's pretty damn good estimate. My truck was allocated early December, built January 12, and arrived at the dealer February 4. Picked it up on the 6th. Was originally told by the dealer it would arrive between February 21-26.

Wanted the lunar color couldn’t find one, and when I did it was already sold. This sucker came in and it caught my eye but not at first. At first man that purple to girly. Then I was standing in the dealership to see if any lunar color became available then the sun came out and it was blue. Like it changed color.

Here’s the new blue crush metallic color for 2022. I’m liking it, eye catching as well as lunar.

The last 6 numbers on temp VIN..the first 2 of the last 6 VIN numbers are the week of build.. My last 6 were something like 012345..The 01 meaning the first week of 2022. By the time I saw that you could check the temp VIN the truck had already been built and the temp VIN no longer worked.. I got the permanent VIN numbers about 3 or 4 weeks later.

 

I hadn't heard this, but my dealer hear told me it was a complete unicorn and I would likely see it in Sep - if _ever_. Supposedly the dealer is resubmitting the allocation request every 2 weeks, but so far ... crickets.

 

IDK if it would, but it might be worth the attempt. From what other users have said, it's a lack of head generated by the LEDs that allows the ice to form... but if the Rain-X prevents the snow/sleet from sticking - heck, if I ever get my truck, I'll try it.

 

Been following my temp vin on toyota site. Didnt give my any info really. Today it disappeared. Does this mean anything ?now i sign in and theres no more vin #.

 

I found out that my 22 TRD Sport was built by looking on the dealers website. It appeared in their "Inventory" as "IN TRANSIT" I then called the salesmen and he confirmed that the truck was built and awaiting
transport. I believe if the temp vin no longer works than the truck is built and has its permanent VIN. But don't quote me on that.

I know the feeling. I spoke to him last week, but he didn't give me a ballpark date for arrival. Being that you and I are in the North East (Im in NJ) our Trucks might be traveling together. Im not certain how Toyota works the logistics of getting Trucks from Mexico to our region. I would think it would arrive in Port Newark if by ship or maybe by rail somehow, but I could be mistaken.

 

Im getting antsy. Id go to Mexico and pick her up if i could
