    I have a 2021 DCLB TRD Sport stock, and also from Canada. From my experience the gauge in my cluster is inaccurate as heck. Every fill up it would show around 14.9L/100km and 448km/tank. What I did was reset the trip monitor for every fill up and calculate it manually. I would usually get 12.9-13.5 combined and about 600-650km/tank.

    Nothing substantial usually, when it was really cold yes, minus 15 or 20 and colder.

    Yep: Enjoy the Tacoma and stop beating yourself up about gas mileage because only in perfect conditions do these get decent mileage. I was seeing around 17.3 with an all stock TRD OR DCSB. Went up one tire size and now I’m at 16.3. Did a trip from New Mexico to AZ driving into a crazy head wind with tumbleweed blowing across the road the entire 500 miles and got 13.6 @ a steady 78mph.

    That trip averaged 16.6 both ways. Did the same trip with my wife’s ‘22 Rav and it got 26.6. She averages 21 here locally. The Tacoma is the worst mileage of anything I’ve owned at southwest highway speeds. My Ram Promaster, an 8’ tall beast of a van with similar power train stats beat the Tacoma by 3 mpg!

    I love my Tacoma, wouldn’t trade it for the world. I’ll never miss the extra $700 at the end of the year so it is what it is.

    Allow too that people are generally great at being BS’ers. They get one good reading with a tailwind and they’ve got their camera out. I would say bull pucky to people claiming 22mpg with a 4x4 Tacoma. 2wd with roller skate wheels, maybe. I had a Gen 2 short bed standard cab 4 cylinder manual which got 23 on flat ground and dropped into the teens quickly on anything else

    I do it every morning as well in the winter and it absolutely kills your overall tank average. I mean if you’re letting it warm up for a couple of minutes then it’s not that much over a tank of gas, but if you’re like me, I let it idle for 10 to 15 minutes when it’s really cold out in the morning.

    My 2018 got better MPG after it broke in and the valves started to wear to where they seated better. I have gotten as much as 25 MPG going from the foothills to a destination and going back, I got 21 MPG. All at 70 MPH highway. The difference was the trip there was downhill and the trip back was up hill. The best routine mileage I get 23 MPG is doing 50 MPH on flat roads in OD. Not pushing as much air.

    Don't anyone claim to get 22 or more with a 4x4 Taco, because apparently that's bullshit.
    Lol, ok.

    Thank you all for the replies
    @DEL107
    Im not stressing over the fuel economy and I bought this beautiful machine for reasons other then having a cheap routine fill up at the gas station. I just wanna make sure that I am getting the most out of my invest. Thanks for including numbers for your previous and current rigs

    @usmc2msu
    Yea I usually let it sit for 5 minutes running in the morning before I jump in, have it stop running cause of Toyotas annoying remote start safety features, then start it to get on with my day

    @TacoSteez
    Appreciate the info. I recently installed new headlights. While doing so I unplugged the battery to complete the install before plugging it back in after I had finished. What I found was that my KM per tank went from 450 to 600. Was shocked and super stoked. Not sure why this happened

    Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
    I'm running 265/75/16's Cooper AT3 on lighter wheels, no lift, DCLB. Nearing 17 mpg would be like a dream. Combined city/hwy I see 15.7. Have never seen better that I recall since buying beginning of August. OV tune will be happening it looks like on Saturday. Can't wait to see results.

    I drive a SR. I don't have a computer to calculate fuel consumption. I just do the math in my head. 20 mpg.

    That's one of the worst ways to warm up the truck. The only thing you're getting up to temp is your cabin and maybe coolant.

    Everything else like your oil pressure and transmission temps require several miles of driving to get up to ideal conditions. The best way to get things to proper operating temps is to start and drive prudently for a few miles. Don't lug or bounce off the rev limiter.

    I'd say its getting worse fuel mileage than mine in the winter. I have an sr5 v6 auto, and get at least 20 mpg driving a combination of city /highway. Truck is all stock except for the goodyear a/t tires instead of the all season firestones. In the summer its around 23-24 mpg.

    I'm living in NW Montana. My mpg is fairly random at times. I usually average around 17-18 on hwy to and from work going between 65-70 mph. My mpg drastically changes when the wind is not in my favor and I can get between 14-16 going 65-70 mph. On rare occasions when the stars align I can get 21 mpg haha.

    Sadly, most of these guys that post high mpg are flat landers and down live in mountainous areas lol.

    Check build thread!
    OV Tuned Stock (ish) TRDOR ACLB:
    Highway at the speed limit I see 24mpg.
    Highway at 10mph/20kph above I see 18-20mpg.
    City I see around 20 IF I’m not in traffic.
    In traffic I get down to 16.

    My truck fuel economy readout for the tank average works pretty well. Spring through Fall I get 735-760 km per tank on a stock vehicle and the truck reads 10 litres per 100 km. I usually fill around 75 litres. Winter fuel kills that.

    SW Ontario is pretty flat compared to the Okanagan.

    This is pretty good for a pickup truck.

    Probably also a good idea to not mix up litres/100km and km/litre.
