Gotcha. I have to head into the dealer today anyway, so I'll ask some questions and see what they say.

My whole concern is that I'll eventually be installing a retrax bed cover and the yakima overhaul racks (decent amount of weight). Figured maintaining some rake would help avoid having a squatted/sagging look from the weight in the bed?

You guys have helped convince me to go with the OEM lift, good discussions the past few pages so thanks for that. Quick question, I just picked up my 2022 OR, does this lift not support the LED fogs so they will pull them off or am i missing something? Thanks!

    Great!!!!

The quick and dirty is that 99% of the Toyota installers will delete the fog lights. But they give you all your original parts back. So I put mine back on. Be careful though. The plastic clips on the plastic bezels break easily.

I don't think you'll be disappointed! I've had mine since last June and love it. As for the fog lights, ask the dealer to leave them alone. Some dealers know it's saving them some work and, since you're getting all your original parts back, they know you'll just reinstall them when you get home. The dealer I went through was fine with it.
Just be sure to clarify that you want all your original parts after the install. When I went to pick up my truck, they forgot to tell the service department I wanted them and the parts weren't in the bed. I had to drive to the service department up the street from the dealership and talk to the manager. Luckily they still had them all in the box the heritage grill came in. Sold the original shocks and recouped some of the cost of the lift. I still have the original OR grill and sensor in the garage. I'll probably sell them too and put the money towards the rest of the RCI skid plates I need. :D

Last time I looked at the instructions it had the states listed where the law requires removal. NC wasn't listed so I told the service guy to leave them on and they did not have an issue with it. He said they never remove them so try it and see what they say.

I'm about to pull the trigger on the TRD lift, but I'm torn between which tires to get. The dealer says that I can fit 285s since I'll be getting the TRD wheels, but 275s are a nice medium between 265s and 285s however I kind of want SL load and they aren't available in 275s.

My question would be what would overall have more of an effect on performance. An extra 7 pounds per tire going with 275 C loads, or a slightly bigger but lighter 285 SL load tire? Looking at Falken AT3ws or Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

How much did you sell the shocks for? Just want to have an idea. I’m definitely selling the sensor and the grill too. Like you, trying to recoup some of what I spent to buy more stuff! Haha!

Just $100, but every bit helps when your wife is questioning your sanity as you keep modifying your brand new truck! o_O

$100 gets you black side mirror lights from Tacoma Lifestyle!

Not that I’ve been eyeing them.

Maybe I'll list my original OR grill and sensor for sale... I've been wanting to get the HeadStrong Progressive AAL and remove the 1" block that came with the lift kit. Hope to maintain the nice ride but bring the back end up just a little.

Quick question if anyone knows. I plan on purchasing the OEM TRD lift kit struts for front and rear this week and installing them with some Off Road coil springs in the front but don’t want to put a 1” block in the rear.

I would like to install the 1.5” Headstrong AAL instead and was wondering if the rear TRD lift kit struts would work with this?
Also are the rear brake line extension brackets required? I have an SR5 2wd so don’t plan on doing any off-roading or full flexing on the suspension anytime soon.

I have a Leer 100XL camper shell so I would assume I have some squat in the rear suspension but not sure how much. I’m just trying to avoid constantly over extending the rear struts with 1.5” AAL over the 1” block if this is an issue.

I also have the TRD Lift Kit with 275/70/17 falken wildpeaks on trd pro sema wheels. I have zero rub and I'm 100% sure 285/70/17 would have rubbed without any sort of cmc or heat gun work

i completely agree. 285s will rub just a little but could probably get away with it. You liking those wildpeaks in that size? I think this will be my next set up. I got k2bros 265/70/17 but feel like I could have shoved bigger tires under the oem lift. I’ve heard the WPs are better in the snow and ice as well.

Very happy with the wildpeak at3ws. Was torn myself between ko2s and at3ws and I'm glad I went falken wp at3ws.
