    UPDATE:

First off, let me start by saying… I was super excited with the way things turned out with the original instal. I gained a bit more height than I expected, but that’s fine. The ride was a bit more stiff, but that’s good bc my stock suspension was always too sort in my opinion.

My concern and reason I went back was my CV’s. Initially I was going to perform the “boot slide” this weekend to see how that would help. I like to use OEM parts whenever possible, so I called all our local Toy dealers and wouldn’t you know it… CV clamps are on a national back order. Was told it could be months! So this past weekend we did some more work… and explored other solutions.

I ordered a differential drop kit from Old Man Emu (help correct CV angles), as well as their driver shaft spacer kit (help with a slight vibration I was having). Both were a walk in the park to install. Drive shaft took less than 5 min, and the diff drop took about 20 min only bc removing and rehanging the TRD skid plate. Put everything back together and did not remove the HS .25” top spacers bc I wanted to evaluate where my CV’s were at this point. They look great! One fun is still slightly touching another, but before I started I believe 3 were touching! Sorry, didn’t think to take pics of this process, just wanted to get it done!

When first done the front was sitting at 38 5/8” from the ground to bottom of fender… currently after a little settling, it sits just about at 37.5”. So it came down about 1” with time and the diff drop. The rear was originally sitting at 38 1/16” (same method of measuring) and has not moved… but wasn’t expecting it to.

Here are updated measurement pictures. Will take some of the CV’s later. Still planning on performing the “boot slide” if and when the clamps come in…

Looks good, best color too ;) You could probably crank the coilovers down to be even side to side. If It were mine, I'd pull those spacers, even it up side to side with the coilovers adjustment, then check the boots. You might not need to dive into the boot slide, and it would probably ride a little better. Alternatively you could buy aftermarket boot clamps for a temporary boot slide and replace them when the OEM are back in stock. Don't want to tear a boot. I'm doing mine next Saturday.

I just did the slide boot mod with regular clamps but the smallest I could find so it doesn't out balance the shafts. So far it's been good and the cv boots haven't slide in. I'm lifted a lil over 3" up front and so far no issues.

Currently I’m just about a 1/16” off between passenger and driver side (Taco lean). More than less, the reason I installed the TS spacers was for ride quality. A 1/4” spacer is equivalent to a 1/2” of lift, and I wanted a little more lift. Knowing they come preset at roughly 2” of lift from Eibach, and I like the firmness of the ride now… I didn’t want to crank more tension on the coils, that’ll just make it even more stiff of a ride… just to gain another 1/2” of lift. Talked to Eibach personally before I did it, and they couldn’t “officially” say it was ok to use the top spacers (liability issues)… but he did say that he wouldn’t be concerned with any issues if I did. Just recommended get slightly longer tower bolts to retain strength. So I guess right now, I’ve gained about 2.75” of front lift and I’m super happy with that and the ride. Eibach knows their stuff and really nailed it with this kit!

Now, if I could get the Feds to give me my tax money, I can get wheels ordered… going 18x9 with 0 offset. Haven’t decided between the Enkei RPT1’s or a set of Volk TE37’s. Really want the Volks, but having a hard time with the $3550 (wheels alone) price tag! I mean it’s a Taco, not a J-Spec Supra. The Enkei’s are a bit less at $2040 (wheels alone)…
    help persuade me!

My truck is not a daily driver, just weekend toy… so I’m going to wait out the back order on the Toy clamps. I’m not going to rack up too much mileage on it before they eventually show up. But definitely doing it still. Glad yours are staying put… did you use CV pliers?

Thank you. This video is great! Super informative without getting too overwhelmed with knowledge that is beyond my understanding. I’m definitely going to start following him for sure! And I did learn that I was wrong, I may not be sacrificing ride quality with adding preload, but I would be sacrificing downward droop or down travel in the rebound aspect. And he also verified that up to .5” spacers are a good and safe option… and can also add downward travel.
Thank you again, this guy rules!

Nope just regular pliers and they did the job hassle free.

I've crank the coilovers at one point to 4" ride height and it isn't jarring. Just slightly firmer. I would've stayed at that height or atleast 3.5" but because of that, you trade droop/travel for height so then the coilovers would be topping out, even at 3" my coilovers are already topping out. So to remedy that, I'm going to lower it back down. And buy a 1" spacers to replace my 1/4" spacer. My 1/4" spacers gives me about .5 or 1/2" of lift. Tho the higher you go, the higher chance your tie rods and sway bar touches at droop. That's if you installed the sway bar relocation bracket that's included with eibachs.
So by adjusting my coilover lower and adding a 1" spacer, it'll not only give me the lift I wanted, but also the travel.

There is the flip side of the coin. By installing the spacer you now possibly reach coil bind when stuffed, and restrict uptravel. With a 1 inch spacer and the lift ratio of .56 approximately, that means there is potentially to lose 1.68" of up travel. A gain in one place becomes a loss in another...

But a 1/4" spacer only loses at maximum 1/2" up travel. The vid you posted above was very insightful that finding that middle ground results in the best articulation and ride quality. I am putting my lift on Saturday and just ordered 1/4" top spacers just in case. I'll be adding a 160lbs or so with bumper and winch so If I can get about 2-2.5" of lift without losing ride quality that seems like a good solution. I don't know if I'll use the spacers or not yet, but If my lift turns out to be 1.5" with bumper weight I might. What are your thoughts on that?

All though that is true, you sacrifice one for another. But honestly.. I barely notice it, my truck is is daily driver, and when I do offroad, I send it. But not like I do crazy shit like rock crawling or something where I really need just that .50 or more for travel. If anything. It only give me .50 of lift. I've tested both droop and up travel as much I could. No issues. Tho, for being about a lil over 3" I am topping out, and ill crank them down atleast 1/4. Bright side with those spacers, I do get about 1/4 more of droop. So far no binding or anything.

When I ordered, I was told I would see it in a month or 2. It showed up less than 3 weeks later.

Cross posting this from regional section just because this thread has convinced me that I needed a bunch of unnecessary stuff for my truck lol. Also since my truck is doing better as an investment than stocks or precious metals in the current market, I figured I treat it to some Christmas presents this year. I accumulated this stuff since Black Friday sales, bumper was a last minute impulse buy because I impulse bought a brand new Badland synthetic winch for $300, couldn’t pass it up. Was going to put it on a cradle and mount a receiver hitch up front but then it would just sit in the garage and chances are I wouldn’t have it when needed…At least that’s what I convinced myself of, as well as it would be taking up space in the bed or sliding around etc etc.

Snowy (Connor) spent an entire day in his shop wrenching on my Tacoma Saturday. Temperature was about 9 degrees but with a pair of heaters and some warm clothes it got done. Very much appreciated and agree with the sentiments above that Connor is “good people”. Installation included Eibach Pro Stage 2 coilovers, ECGS bushing, SPC UCAs, BA slimline bumper with 12k winch and light bar, Deaver expedition stage 2 leaf springs, and Eibach rear shocks. I left my house about 6:30am and got home around 9:30pm with a little over 3 hrs driving. Long day, but very rewarding.

Suspension feels so much better, with the weight of my cap, racks, and tote of stuff in the back the stock suspension was not up to task. I had put sumo springs 612-40s when I got my cap and was riding on those constant not smashing them at ride height but would feel them on bumps. They helped some with rear body-roll in turns but not front or brake dive. The rear has settled so far to about 2.5” lift off the sumos and it might settle a little more. I’m going to park it on a level spot today and check the front. I believe got about 1.5” lift in the front sitting around 22” center hub to fender. The coilovers typically adjusted to give 2”, I’m guessing the 1/2” lower is the added front weight. Might adjust them to 1.75-2” but need to measure on level ground.

Only issue I had and it seemed temporary and hopefully unrelated, was a horrible grinding then tinny sound in the front that scared the shit out of me on my way home. It had driven perfect for nearly 90 miles and I stopped for gas. Pulling in I think I might have possibly kicked a rock up in between the rotor and dust shield. It made a grinding sound pulling out then kind of a high pitch rotational noise, stopped when I hit a bump, but then started again a couple miles later right as pulling into my house. Went to bed, got up Sunday checked things over, tried shaking driver-side CV Axel etc, nothing looked out of place. Then it made the noise pulling out of my house, turned left and it stopped again. I was on my way to the car wash to spray off the body. Made sure I blasted some water around the front brake rotor/shield area and it’s been good so far.

Today I plan to measure suspension and think about date for alignment and to get my wheels and tires on. Need to wire up the winch and light so might tackle that too. I have an Auxbeam 8 gang switch for the lights and a disconnect for the winch. Also need to add my flip up license plate bracket and put my plate back on.
    Pics incoming.

Just finished cranking the drivers side coil a little more. Currently at 22” both sides up front center hub to fender. I’ve got about 2” of rake right now but I think the rear might settle a little more and I want to maintain some rake to sit levelish when loaded. Might crank the front up another 1/2” but not sure yet. CV boots looking good at 1.5” lift. Probably schedule an alignment for next weekend then out on the 265/75s pictured above.

just did some more cranking. 22.5” both sides front. About 1/4” difference in threads driver to passenger. Like it, about 5 threads (1/2” or so remaining from top). I’m guessing this is about 2” of lift, although I only came up on the drivers side, drive measure etc. sitting pretty level. Might go see about getting my tires on and the new TPMS sensors programmed to the truck.
