Tried to look it up but no luck on my streaming services.

Finished Expanse, Boba Fet, and Oazarks this week. I tend to watch all the episodes but the last then move on… like I don’t want them to end. Boba Fet being the exception due to my kids watching it with me.

I enjoyed Don’t Look Up and I’m moving onto Reacher!

Its been pretty decent. It's stupid, but funny

 

Started Inventing Anna on Netflix. Like it so far. Stars the young hillbilly woman in the Ozarks.

 

"1883" on Paramount+

Makes my recommended mature family viewing list.

A modern pioneer horse opera, prequel to "Yellowstone". The feel of 1883 is different from Yellowstone. I describe Yellowstone as a Dallas/Godfather mashup.

Female viewers may find it appealing. Shows narrative is by the daughter of the original Dutton family pioneers. I guess that makes her Kevin Costner's great great grandmother

 

I love 1883, even better than Yellowstone in my opinion. Yellowstone is good but you really have to suspend your realistic expectations with it because there's just no way anyone could get away with what that family does in today's world. Still good though

 

In 2020 540,000 people went missing in the US.
They didn't all go to the Train Station.

 

Also the sheer amount of crazy ass drama that follows them around, I mean I get it everyone wants their land but still.

Raised By Wolves is pretty crazy, surprised I didn't hear about it until recently. Ridley Scott directs the first couple of episodes and produces the show and it definitely has the feel his movies do.

Kind of interesting take on how society achieves so much technologically in the future that it starts to devolve in other aspects of life, i.e. back to the way things were circa Medieval times

Definitely has a Dune feel to it as well

Looks like yet another Yellowstone prequel show is in the works, this one will be called 1932. Man they're really milking this franchise lol.

Season 2, kids are more grown. Bit different vibe. Still entertaining so far.

 

Depressing warning from old fart guy: Yesterday I watched the documentary "Rape of Nanking". It's really a story about the author of the book. Amazing young woman committed suicide in her 30's, she got so depressed about the subject matter and people in her books. Heart wrenching really. That said, not sure young people know much about this. There is one strong point among many - there was German guy in Nanking - a Nazi German - who was actually protecting women, the acts were on such an unimaginable scale and depravity. Disgusting human behavior.
