Kershaw makes a nice product. Inexpensive and reliable.

Absolutely! This is my third. I was gifted a Monaco, then I got an SNG Operator, now this. Probably won’t be my last lol

The SNG is my largest folder for sure. I do love it, but it’s not an easy edc.

SnG’s are great, so ergonomic. It’s what I usually carry at work. Like you said, not the easiest carry tho. Those Operators look badass too.

    I just got my first Pro-Tech, it's a TR-3:

    20220212_155552 (2).jpg

I was hesitant on purchasing it because autos 1.5" and over are illegal to carry in MA. I don't think I've ever even seen an automatic with a blade that small. Either way, it is legal to own, just can't carry it. ;)

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Knife laws, how strange. What’s the gun carry situation up there?
I am in GA and NC, and haven’t had to deal with this.

It's pretty easy to obtain a carry permit or an FID card here, unless you've ever been in any kind of trouble, even as a child. In which case you are permanently banned from owning firearms for the rest of your life. A far as I know, California actually has less restrictions than MA.
Crazy for some of us to think that 15 miles north in NH you don't need any kind of permit.

Well NC has some weird ones for knives and it use to be you couldn't sell them but could own. Lots of pushback and grassroots getting the laws changed has made NC a lot better..

Lol, that’s a strange law indeed. Being from Ga, the laws there are very slack.

Can't speak for anyone else, but for me personally it's mostly the classic appeal of a traditional folder. Same reason I like cowboy guns and old milspecs. Definitely have more than my fair share of high speed low drag tacticool, but every now and then I love a bit of nostalgia too.

Ironic. A friend just asked the same question. The answer I gave was slightly different but similar. I was given a case as a kid and have always enjoyed their simplicity and the memories they bring.

Old as in used and literally old, or "old" as in they are an old fashioned style of knife? The further back you go into the 1900s, the more of an antique it becomes.

Most of my collection are made in 2010+, for me I collect them as a form of functional "art" so to speak. No two are exactly the same due to being made by hand in USA, and they have been since 1889.

I find the heritage of them cool since it is a piece of American history, the only knife equivalent I can think of nowadays would be Boker's traditional folders (but it would be German heritage)

Some are old in age, maybe its a little of both. Just been seeing a lot lately it seems, just had me wondering if it was a trend coming back around
