    It was furniture sold before the game. He bet 4 million, then late last week he bet another 5 because he sold more furniture than his initial bet would cover.


    That’s a shit ton of furniture to sell in 2 weeks. I’m sure he gets a much better margin than most retailers for moving that much volume. Probably works out just fine for him the big picture

    The best one I've seen was the Jordan's Furniture sale...From March 7 through opening day in 2007 any Beds, Tables, sets etc bought would be free if the Red Sox won the world series...Well...They won it that year...They were very hush hush about the actual amount but hinted at a mathematical figure in the 30M range...
    However I remembered some time (Years) later they revealed that it was a Warren Buffet Ins Co that was dinged for $60M on the promotion...Red Sox fans believed...
    Poor fella...I hope he recovers...
