Be sure to exit out of this screen and go to home screen when turning Bluetooth and Wi-Fi off then back on. Also, use the button on top right to close out all open tabs before starting this process.

    Good luck!

Has anyone used a line driver in conjunction with a joying unit? I recently installed a 10.5 and the unit is amazing for what it is BUT the pre-amp voltage is awful. If I bypass my amp and run the unit to the speakers it sounds great however if I use the RCAs to my amp I am missing a ton of range in the signal. I am assuming its due to the pre-amp voltage being so low. I have ordered an Audiocontrol Matrix Plus to bump the signal before the amp but it hasn't came in yet.

So got home, disconnected battery to reset.

it connects with Bluetooth no issues. I can place calls. Play music, radio works just fine.

it will not connect CarPlay. Just does this:

    image.jpg

Just cycles back and forth. The only thing that’s changed in the last 2 days is my phone updated to this:

I’m just not sure what I should do. Any pointers?

Damn, that sucks. I am still running 15.2.1 on my iPhone so its very possible that is the issue. Did you go to main home page and use the button on top right corner (3 stacked boxes?) to close out all open apps? And then did you push the small reset button on bottom left corner of unit?

Do you have Carlink set to open automatically when you start the truck?

Will it do carplay if you plug it in through the USB? I would try that for starters to see if your phone works that way. I run mine via USB about half the time. Also double check all the settings on your phone to make sure nothing has changed.

I don’t have it set up that way, I’ve tried to set it up but I always mess it up. Wish I could start over from the beginning. I did close all the apps and it still is messed up.

now that you mention it, no it doesn’t. USB works, as it charges my phone.
It’s just strange that it’s been working flawlessly before this weekend.

UPDATE: wife and I were just chatting about wifi, I look up and notice my phone isn’t connected to my house wifi. Open up wifi settings, it just searches and searches, not finding anything (there are 7-10 wifi ports around our house.). So I just hard restarted my phone, boom wifi connected. I’m willing to bet, that’s been my issue this whole time.

    That totally was it.

Basically when my phone updated it bricked my wifi. Even turning wifi on and off on my phone like you suggested earlier, did absolutely nothing. After I rebooted my phone completely, wifi was working on my phone. Got in the truck this morning and everything worked like a dream. It even connected faster!

I did notice yesterday when attempting to check the wifi connection that I wasn't getting anything. Not even any other random networks within range, but I never put 2 and 2 together.

    Thanks again for the assistance.

Just installed my Joying unit. Running into a couple of bumps that I hope someone could answer for me:
    1. How is the backup camera connected to the back of the unit and which wire is it? Is it the yellow RCA cable marked "backup camera" coming off of one of the connected harnesses?
    2. How to change C to F on the weather widget?
    3. How do you remove the accessibility button from the screen?

I posted somewhere in this link or another one recently on how to change C to F. It is about two levels deep in one for the menus. There is a you tube video on how to hide that little white button. Honestly can't remember where I plugged in the backup cam but it worked

    1. One of yellow RC connectors with Toyota harness. Test it with the ignition on and in R.
    2. System configuration and go all the way down

Got the backup camera working. I appreciate the input. This thread has been awesome with everyone sharing back and forth. A couple of things I’m not totally happy with that I may try to change:
    1. Quality of backup camera. Would changing to an aftermarket one but using original location be something that’s possible?
    2. Quality of the included microphone is not great. Wife tells me there’s always a terrible echo when we speak. Is there a setting to alleviate this or would buying a higher quality mic to replace it with be the solution?

I've asked #2 in the past, but never got any resolution. I rarely take phone calls when driving, but I just put my phone on speaker. I've heard others using an external mic, but reviews on that.

I'm considering doing this down the road. The gains on my amps are turned up to compensate for the weak RCA output. But still I'm not getting nearly as much dynamic range as I should be. I'm interested in how your system turns out.

    2. In Settings, go to Factory, enter 3368. Then go to Original Car Agreement. Scroll down until you see Temperature unit switch.
    3. There should be a Touch Assistance app or icon. Click that, then on the Display button line, uncheck the box.

So yea the pre-amps absolutely suck. Even with the Matrix hooked up boosting them to 5v and feeding an audiocontol ac 4.300 it still is missing about half the range. Also have a very soft hiss when no audio is playing. I did an experiment and ran speaker level inputs direct to the amp and it sounds 5x better with full range. I guess the next step would be to run a LC7i and use the speaker inputs.
