Changed out brakes to 4runner. Already have 17" wheels. It was about $500 all in with reman 14WA calipers. Everything OEM. 4runner hard lines aren't needed at all. If you do this swap, make sure your calipers come with pins for the pads as the 4runner pins are longer.

I had EBC greenstuff pads previously and am not a fan. When they got hot they would fade pretty good and then suddenly catch. My rotors also warped but it could have been age or something to do with the pads. Either way, OEM or equivalent is easier to find parts and I hope to be in other countries where more exotic upgrades would be a process to source.

The 4runner stuff is definitely an upgrade with bigger pads (contrary to comments I've read), rotors and more venting in the backing plate. It isn't dramatic, but it is solid. Without bedin, they felt fine driving around the block but I'll get a better feel after bedding and a long trip.

That's true for 3rd gen. Headstrong's data for a 2nd gen shows that 885 yields a 2.25" lift. The 887 is 2.5" for a Double cab 4x4. But post measurements were a solid 3” above the original measurement. I was aiming for the 2.25 in the front and 3 in the rear. But it hasn’t settled yet, so we’ll see where it ends up.

Lots of stuff done. Adjusted my spc arms and lower cams to help with 35’s. Absolutely 0 rubbing on road and we will see what still needs to be adjusted for Offroad. Before and after pics below on adjustments.

    Looks good dude.

How you liking the Milestars? Was thinking about them for my next set but I keep hearing mixed reviews.

TRD grill for the snorkel is a nice touch.

I was wondering, do you have Archive Garage Hammer Hangers on your rig? I know you're just as heavy as me if not more.

    Heh! Awesome, same!

As of pretty recently. I added the mid leaf from a 2018 Tacoma to the stack, still plan on spec'ed Deavers eventually.

Not sure if the newer ones are better but I got mine a few years ago and they were shit at keeping moisture out ... so be careful storing metal parts inside them.

I put some extra sealant around the edges and haven’t had any issues so far. Boxes have been on truck for over a year.

    So what do you think?
    Kinda James Bond looking.
Think these Icon wheels will hold on to 37s?
Think I'll give them a try.

Have one of the same. Keeps out most moisture even in the worst of rain storms pushing highway speeds. Great for recovery gear and I love the end latches the keep the entire lid uniformly, tightly closed.
