    Just shy of 75k. I’m actually doing a CP4 to a CP3 conversion. The CP4’s are known for failure and exploding in extreme cases under load (I’m always under load). The cost to repair is 10-12k. I’m doing the conversion for under 2k.

    Relatively low for a diesel!

    Also Chris, I'm seriously worried about my truck being totaled; Butch, the guy who has repaired my truck numerous times before, assures me that no insurance company would total it. I am still worried though. My two most valuable possessions right now are the Tacoma, and the camera equipment I showed you the other day.

    If the truck is worth about $15k, the repair would need to be near that to be totaled out, right?

    Lucky for you the damage is isolated to the bedside and door, the cab looks untouched. I've got no idea what I'm talking about but it seems like only replaceable items are dinged up.

    That's not what I'm worried about; Butch can get the parts. I won't be dropping the truck off until he gets the parts (he insisted on that since the truck is safe to drive); I am worried about a battle with the scrapyard's insurance over the value of my truck!

    You could get quotes from places like Driveway, Carvana, CarMax, KBB, etc. which could be used to argue value.

    Your insurance may also help fight their insurance if you're willing to deal with filing a claim with them.

    I’m just glad it wasn’t worse. I’ve ran that size excavator and they have some power. I’m sure the operator once seeing you were there plugged the controller in the opposite direction and you only got a love tap.

    Wasnt actually the excavator that hit me; From what I could see out of the corner of my eye, the "claw" thing lost its grip on the pipe, which fell and smashed into the side of my truck...

    Also, is the correct term for that machine an "excavator"? I feel like an excavator is used to dig basement foundations...? :notsure:
