EV World, anyone who likes EVs. You could probably read this thread, or any EV thread to find examples.

If you can not lift the rumored EV Tacoma hybrid, I assume, like you cant on the Rav 4, then I will not buy one. Simple as that imho

Driving an EV does require some mind set changes. For example having to go somewhere to get fuel. With home charging I wake up every morning with about 300 miles of range. I also give zero fucks to the car charging, it's not much different than my electric tooth brush. I use it, put it on the charger, and the next time I need it, it is charged and ready to go. With my driving habits, a standard 120V plug would do the charging job. Yeah yeah, I know not everyone can home charge, but even apartment and condo's are installing outlets. As more renters buy EV's apartments will start to install EV outlets, if for no other reason than to attract and keep good renters.

Now where all of the above goes out the window is road trips. DC fast charging, or Tesla's name for the same thing, Supercharging is the only way to go. 240V charging is to be used as a last resort or at a hotel while sleeping. I'm planning a trip right now and we'll see how much I like the Tesla when I get back. One of the big selling features of the Tesla is the Supercharging network. By all accounts it's pretty good. When I get back I'll post the truth of it.

And haters think EV problems apply to everyone. One example; charging is difficult. For some people maybe, but for the vast majority of people I know, easy as pie.

I respond to the uniformed not to change a mind, but for those that might be doing their home work before buying an EV. I'd like there to be some truth out there from someone who actually drives an EV. There are a lot of use cases where an EV makes no sense. But daily driving, commuting, running kids to little league, etc, etc, etc EVs make a lot of sense and they're fun to drive to boot.

I also try to correct the uninformed with facts but they double down on their misinformation and still peddle it as truth. I'll still post facts to counter their false claims....I have the time...sometimes...lol

    Anyone?
I don't find that anyone who likes EV's touts them as one size fits all solution. I also don't find that anyone that likes ICE touts them as a one size fits all solution.
I tend to avoid blanket statements and generalizations, but that's just me.

Yeh EV's are made in different car sizing, range, features, drive, battery chemistry. etc. I don't need a $153k 525 mile range Lucid but a $25k 150 mile Nissan Leaf is perfect for my range needs and wallet. EVs aren't one size fits all.

No different than gas stations being down due to damage after a storm

Does someone know where I can find an unsubstantiated 'news' report that supports my narrative? I hate doing my own research, reading things I don't agree with, discussing both sides of an argument with people I don't agree with and love to make blanket statements and generalizations.

Well theres generators for that but i lived in the gulf , and when hurricanes hit sometimes gas stations wont operate due to flood, down power lines, lack of ability to get fuel to the station etc.

I dont get all the EV hate. 1) ive never driven one in my life , but i can see the appeal. 2) once upon a time gasoline faced every single hurdle all the chicken littles are yapping about in here and look where we are today lol

Battery tech and infrastructure will improve with time. As for mining the metals, as time goes on whose to say that will be the same way its done 10 years from now, 20 years ? At one point fracking didnt exist. Lol

Yes new battery tech will require little to no lithium and Cobalt usage in new battery development is reduced to half in some upcoming battery chemistries. I was skeptical about EVs until I drove one for a few years and was just blown away by cost and ease of use and savings in monthly electric compared to petrol costs.

Until we can generate "free energy" all EVs will run on coal and natural gas.. which is silly when you think about it.

Wind is retarded, and your welcome to start building these in your city's. I think the Coast of California would look really cool blanketed in these. Our wild west is over supplying the US with all its power.

False, there is also Hydro, Nuclear and Renewables that pump electric to homes in the USA.

    Wind is retarded? Prove it?

Im all in , but i want mr fusion as a hybrid power option, for the flux capcito
The other thing people arent considering is that the existence of evs doesnt mean gas vehicles will just cease to exisist. Personally the only ev ive made the switch on is my lawnmower chainsaw and weedeater and i have to say its pretty badass. My grandfather was a gearhead through and through born in 1918, and i can honestly say he would be down with ev's if he were still here. He loved seeing automotive technology progress.

Well those people get the impression that the Govt. will come to your house, collect the keys to your ICE vehicle and force you to buy an EV. Just scared little brains it seems.

But I am looking for an battery electric chainsaw which some work just as well and some better than gas saws.

I did my homework, my county where I charged the Tesla get power from Nuclear so your blanket statement that EVs are charged only on coal and gas is false. Boulder city and Las Vegas and parts of Nevada and Arizona use electric generated by the hydro (hoover Dam) You obviously don't know the facts.

Thanks for that. That natural gas has got to go for electric production. Fracking has caused earthquakes even here in NJ.
