Today I filled up my 2005 Prerunner with 21.46 gallons of gas at Costco. I thought I only have a 21.1 gallon tank. Is Costco ripping me off ? or am I just really bad at math ? And no, I wasn't on empty. And I didn't try to pump more after it clicked.

Something is off there, the most I've ever put in mine is 19.8, 21.1 is the specified capacity.

Definitely pump flow meter is off. No wonder Costco is always .20/gal cheaper!

Yeah our tank is definitely 21.1 and more then that you are doing the click click click routine and you all know how harmful that is!

I would definitely not go there anymore. Lol.

Tank is 21 but I typically fill up around 15-18 gallons. Light turns on around 18. Just paid 2.99 a gallon for 87 here in Houston

You also need to account for the volume of gas the filler neck tube holds as well, not just the tank.

You don't want to fill the charcoal canister and evap system with fuel. It gets in there and can't get out, you'll have the check engine light coming on and it'll get expensive

I recently put 21.3 gallons in my '14. I was well below empty when I filled. Figured I was moments away from sputtering to a stop.

Mt '07 gas gauge is right on the nose accurate. When the low fuel light comes on I have 4 gallons left in the tank, without question. Not so sure it's the same on my '14. Almost seems like it only has 3 gallons left when its low fuel light comes on.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Depends. If it is full it's not big enough. When it's empty it's too big.

The filler neck, ok well how much does that hold ? Keep in mind I didn't over fill. I stop when it clicks.

Dang, i’m gonna have to do some more reading on the “stop on the first click at the pump” thing. I never realized i could potentially be doing damage.
