TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Do you need a set of cam gears to go in at the same time? I think you already did that though.

 

Did that last year, along with painting the valve covers, 2.8 pulley (probably go smaller this summer) and lots of other work.

 

I gotta get the E46 M3 into the shop for rod bearing replacement before I can focus on the truck again though. Hopefully in the next few weeks. Last quote was $1200ish for that

aking it off the 2nd time is 30min. im not a mechanic either. 21 bolts, a hose, and a belt. its surprisingly simple. id like a part # for the blind bearing puller. wouldn't mind passing it around for others here.

On the website it says 10-15hp for the 4.0l and 20-30whp for the 3.5l. Did you dyno a 4.0l 2nd gen? Just wondering how you got the 10-15hp numbers.

Ah, yes. You can definitely do them without removing the blower. You may need some swivels but I used a shorty snap on 10mm. Easy peasy.

 

i like the honesty. a 2lb hammer set my idler bearings in 2 pops.

The high flow cats I put on with the shorty headers started coming apart and it sucked the dust back into the engine.

 

This may have been me after sound treating my rear cab, trying to get the seats/seat belt bolts back in

 

until its righty loosey.

 

For the plugs, you don’t even need that if he’s just swapping coils
