My truck has been rear-ended by a texting driver, sideswiped by a drunk driver, and nearly impaled by a heavy equipment operator!

I'm actually about to call the manager of the scrapyard; Unsure if they're gonna have an adjuster look at my truck or just write me a check.

Oh ya, I wouldn't doubt it at all. I wouldn't buy another cheap Chevy like the Cruze or Sonic. They have transmission issues and went through it with my old Cruze. It was at the shop more than it was in our garage for the first month or two. It had the trans "rebuilt" under warranty more than once due to hard shifts and it would occasionally act like it went into neutral while accelerating. Other than that I loved the fuel economy and it rode pretty good.

Voicing essentially "What the hell just happened?" and how could that have occurred? is pretty normal to unexpected, elevated stressful event, and is part of the sizing up wtf is going on.

a lesson learned over the years. Emotions are mine, my choice, no one else has permission (except maybe a spouse) to control them. Emotions do not get to control me, therefore i'm in charge of my reaction.

Now you can choose; taking a moment to size up the situation, (situational awareness) and then make a choice in your favour of what your reaction will be.

I mean.... you came through close behind active heavy equipment without caution that was digging through a junk pile . This could of been avoided IMO.

Just got contacted the operations manager at the scrapyard and left a message; Minutes later, my insurance company (USAA) called me and I gave them all the info. They are going to be contacting the guy at the scrapyard as well.

Could also argue the scrapyard has a precarious pile of shit directly adjacent to an active roadway and failed to exercise caution.

Well, they assumed responsibility without question, so I do not think it's going to come to that; They'd better give me a rental though, because my body guy say's it's gonna take roughly a week to fix my truck!

Not bad at all for a phone app, those usually stank like dirty butts.

2nd Gen ended in 2015, but production of regular cabs ended in 2014; Mine was purchased brand new at Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, Pennsylvania in September 2009.
