I haven't really inspected the pics, but does it pull on the axle or just bow the spring?

Without knowing the full pros and cons of each, my first assumption is the $$$ barrier to entry.

I'd imagine the bolt-on spring is a couple hundred bucks, vs air bags that probably cost about the same but require on-board air and everything involved with installing that.

    Money talks.

From what I can see it's basically wrapped around the U-bolts and is under constant tension.

Price and resistance to puncture would have to be the biggest selling points because I don't really see any other technical reason for them to be favored over bags. I feel like I'd rather have an AAL if I was going the cheap route though.

If you have a load or were towing that changes often then this is not the system for you.
In my case I wanted to beef up the suspension without effecting ride stiffness, improve towing stability when pulling my pop-up camper and get a bit of lift as well.

I did add additional weather stripping to the tailgate portion as there was a small 1/4 inch gap but not a biggie... I actually emailed tyger and they sent it for free...gotta love that

The road master is different. But the physics is there. I would think the spring is there to supplement the leaf, as opposed to placing tension on it or the axle. But we may need to bust out a chalkboard and scratch our heads. I went with an AAL from toytec, made by Deaver, but it’s 3 leaves.

Ride is way better than the stock Off Road suspension, more firm and no more brake dive. I did the block since I rarely have weight in the bed. Me and my 15 year old son did the entire install. We used the non spring compressor method by removing the LCA bolts. Took about 6 hours (2 because the 1 in. block kit did not come with extended leaf bolt)

    Supercharged, 2" Lift, 33" tires.
Final piece of the puzzle came in today. Now I need to decide if I will install the lift before I get new tires or not. I don't want it to look weird with factory tires. I already have new rims, pro style with 0 offset. I am hoping to get Falken WP in 285/70/17

The goal is a 2" lift. I started to save and buy components for a few months now.

Going with Bilstein 6112/5160 Icon AAL 1.5"

Set your SPC to setting "F" or "G" and move your tire forward as much as possible then trim the front lower fender and move the inner liner forward they should clear full stuff no problem!
    Congrats on the Purchase!

    EDIT:
Here a few pictures of the front inner liner moved forward.

Yes that helps, I'll be sure to bookmark this one for future use. I really like that install. Thanks for the dimensions as well. I really wish they would make radios to fit a DIN slot in a dash. That would solve so many issues. Have an audio out for the head unit and boom...

I haven't had a passenger since installing the copilot side; once I do I'll let you know. I threw my cell in it once rather than on the passenger's seat.

I still have the TRD Pro Fox Suspension. I'm definitely wanting to do a bit bigger lift eventually but have to let the wallet recover first haha.
