    You'd think right?

So, I inquired about culinary school and asked about when to register, etc.

I had my dates a bit off as I graduate school Aug 4th.

The course runs in modules, with each module being between 6-7 credits, and 5 weeks long.

For a few students, this is their second to last module and after that, we will all be doing Prodev (professional development).

During this time, we inquire about AWS certs/testing, and we forward any and all pics we've taken of our work for a portfolio. There's resume building and other helpful things to help the young ones.

Anyway, Prodev will consist of roughly 2.5 weeks of CAD followed by 2.5 weeks of project making reflecting what we made in CAD. Actual build must accurately correspond with our blueprints.

What's funny is, after that module the cycle starts over as some students will graduate. When the new module begins, it will be the most basic of courses which will be the OSHA certification and then Oxyfuel.

Since I did all of that much faster than anyone, and basically finished those earlier modules right away (in theory), when it's my time to actually do them I'll be able to do other work. Instructor says I'll be lending a hand to the newer students as needed, and will be able to cert test and focus on the skills I wish to advance in.

oh damn, that is cool that it includes portfolio building and working to teach others. That should be pretty good for building skills and future jobs

are you excited about CAD? That sounds particularly interesting

CAD + ability to weld = fuck yeah

Though it's been some 20 years since I touched CAD back when I did drafting in high-school.

AutoDesk changes their software a lot year to year. I last had a cad class in 2017 and I would probably be lost for a little bit on the newest software.

Even if it hadn't changed, it would look completely new to me; I can't recall what I had for dinner two nights ago let alone software from 20 years ago

Unless we're talking gaming. Fuck I was a nerd.

Just using it to figure out angles and radius' of parts is great if you dont want to draw the entire thing.

Finding angles for specific length parts joined together is going to really help a lot.

I just need my own version of CAD but don't want to pay

so a priest in AZ apparently used one wrong word during all his baptism ceremonies over the course of 20 years, and the local Diocese has determined that every single one of them is thereby invalid.

can't make this stuff up. Well, turns out you can when it's all based on make-believe anyway

Cant get the student version? All you needed a few years ago was a school and instructors name.
