    Sketchup Make 2017 is popular with woodworkers. It might be good enough for hobby projects. It won't compare to AutoCAD but it's free. You just need t make sure you download that exact version--newer versions aren't free anymore.

    Here's a woodworking-focused intro tutorial. I doubt it's the best tutorial out there, it's just the one from a channel I follow:

    Modeling a Complete Project in Sketchup for Beginners Pt.1 - Sketchup for Woodworkers
    Modeling a Complete Project in Sketchup for Beginners Pt.2 - Sketchup for Woodworkers

    Fusion 360 has a "free for hobbiest" version. They're the same people that make inventor and autoCAD. It's what I use for parts modeling ... not sure if it has a weld drawing feature in it, I can look later for you

    Not really sure what your vehicle has to do with it, but iirc the only difference between it and the full version is you get a watermark on anything you print out. Really isnt a big deal since any drawing left laying in the shop gets covered in grease and oil anyways.

    Oh shit.

    @6P4
    @High Noon

    So my needs will be very basic/simple.

    I do plan to bend more than just flat bar; would love to bend tubing and find respective angles needed for joining said pieces.

    Same with square tubing being joined.

    I can mock up, measure and cut, but it takes extra time. I'd like a program that'll just allow me to work 'efficiently'.

    Oh, yeah that was out of context.

    Meant for a first project like a swingout. Later on, vehicle related accessories (not just my own).

    Zane has been very helpful in offering me his own idea, but it would really be a bit more original for me to make my own from scratch you know?

    It would be the end of my life but that's for different reasons. It would also be a very confusing anomaly.

    Maybe you'll be different, I've met very few people whose lives didn't change extremely dramatically after they had their children. And the fact is it really is that hard to bring them with you. It adds a lot more to what you have to do so much so that a lot of people deem it easier just not to.

    You must have some nice docile kids. Mine is at the shop trying to fire up the plasma cutter while im under the truck trying to figure out why don't just buy a ford explorer sv and a jet boat.

    I based my rear bumper off of addicted offroads 1st gen tundra rear. Added my own flare to keep it different, also I used a piece of 6" channel as the main part to keep it simple and cost effective.
