    Something with a back seat….

    :anonymous:

Actually…..I had a Honda CRX when I was a youngster and passenger seat worked fine and dandy. :D

Little ‘squirrely’ for a ‘new’ driver IMHO (a Tacoma could be a little squirrely for that matter)…

low and slow is my advice - civic, camry, subaru…

    • I highly recommend getting your boy something that will force him to research + learn + maintain
    • eBay Motors has a check box on the filtering at left for < 10K (in the web app dunno where it is in mobile)
    • No idea where you are at in the country so you may have local deals show up different in your queue than me but check out this SWEET Hillux NA DIESEL!!!!!
    • If he were my kid I would also buy him a stick - all drivers should know how to drive a stick
If I needed another vehicle I would be all over this. This is the type of rig you could have SO MUCH FUN WITH upgrading / changing, or just leave it as is and maintain it and it'll run forever. Link to eBay listing. Alternatively, you could look for a 1990s Chevy/GMC C or K 1500. Those are going for around 6 - 9 g's depending on condition.

The boy needs a minivan or a hatchback to savor the excitement of "making out" in a secluded location in the boonies.

Then when leaving......the car won't start. DAMHIKT.

Don't wast your money on a toyota truck then. They are too expensive unless he wants one. Get one of these other suggestion.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Except for whoever suggested the 1946 power wagon:rofl:. His mom wants us to get him a new 2022 Hyundai Accent (quoted 17k). I think he needs to experience a crappy old car. Plus no payments

A manual 4x4 pickup truck was my first vehicle. Got into a lot of trouble driving over everything I shouldn’t have and sliding all over in the winter haha.

You know your kid, we don’t, but if feel safer with my kid in a vehicle with AWD in the snow here rather than rear wheel drive and no weight in the back.

Look for a 2008-2010 Honda CRV or Subaru. I bought a single-owner 2009 CRV to drive until my Tacoma arrives, I really like it.
