It's a solid combination of nature AND nurture.

2. Read to your kids
3. Tell them bedtime stories
4. They can stay up as late as they want if they are in bed reading
5. Have a family dinner at least once a week
6. Cook together
7. Encourage sports, coach if you can, attend if you can't coach
8. Know their teachers/classes/weaknesses and help them overcome them
9. A loud voice goes a long way if you're normally calm.
10. Don't be their best friend. Be their parent. Best friends sometimes lie to you for your own good.
11. Play games together.
12. Do puzzles
13. Teach them how to sneak food into movies.
14. Pray they don't go to a douchebag university for $50+K a year...
15. Combine 2 good sets of genes
