The trunk mount was a temporary solution for us 2 years ago, the spare is still there.

Guess the GX world is still picking up steam, very interesting as that's how it was when I got into to the 4Runner world...

The options for bumpers/swing-outs I'm seeing are:
    • Dobinsons
    • Coastal Off-Road
    • MetalTech
    • LFD
    • Expedition One
    • Victory4x4
Really like the idea of the JW but slightly hesitant to have that much weight (an extra 90# or so) hanging off the rear gate.

Thinking of another shit-rigged option... something like attaching the Saris swing-away hitch with a Curt spare tire mount in it to my hitch. Not ideal but way less expensive than the bumper options.

So I've never really measured my lift, never did a before and after. I measure from the middle of the hub to the bottom of the fender to at least get a rough idea. I'm supposed to have a 3" lift. So I measured a stock GX here at work. It measures 19" front, 20" rear. Mine measures 23.5" front, 24" rear. This isn't scientific all at all but it seems like I have a 4" lift.:rofl:

@w.adventures Got a new dent in the same spot as before while at Gulches this past Saturday. Except this time the rear bumper popped out a little. :rofl:So I have about 3-4 dents on the left rear bumper.
I was with jeep peeples who pointed it out. I just lined it up and hit it back into place. They seem shocked or something. I'm like, yeah that's like the 4th dent on that one spot.

Dang...I'm going for 2-2.5" lift max...I like to keep the center of gravity low and still have some down travel. My truck only has 2.25" of lift believe it or not.

My car doesn't "seem" like it has that much lift. It doesn't look crazy high and I don't have to jump up to get into it.

EDIT: If @SearArtist ever met up with any of us, you could see the difference.

What are people running for exhaust systems? Catback or just muffler setups. Thinking about an upgrade in the near future. Little louder than stock is good but I want to avoid the famous drone

Magnaflow Overlander catback. No drone. Nice deep tone when heavy on the throttle.

Not loud at all when you are cruising or are at lite throttle.

Checking in. Been dealing with some personal life bullshit. Things are starting to calm down now. Git a stack of parts for the GX. Just haven't had the time nor the desire to fuck with it lately.

Had some time to kill, decided to go on my little forestry road route I like to take. They were doing controlled burns several miles away…but was still a bit smokey

Ugh I'm jealous. I just traded in my 2008 GX for a Lexus CPO 2019 with 32k miles and paid $50k. I found the original window sticker in the glove box and almost cried when I saw the MSRP haha.

They did give me way more than I expected for my 470, so it was pretty much a wash.

I got my 2012 with 106k miles on it for $21k ~two years ago :humble:

Now i am seeing similar for $28k or some with 160k+ miles going for $22k+

    The market is crazy

    shoulda kept the 470

460 drives like a school bus. It’s big and slow. I can whip my 470 around like a race car (also thanks to KDSS)

Yep, I bought my 2008 for ~$19k 5 years ago with 49k miles. The Lexus dealer gave me just under $15k for the trade.

Long story, but my 470 was from upstate NY and needed a little more TLC than I could give it so I was forced to trade it in. Otherwise I would have never let it go. I agree on the peppiness. My GX with 275/70s felt like a race car off the line compared to the 460.

I do like the quiet and smooth ride in the 460, but it needs a pedal commander ASAP to address the laggy/soft skinny pedal. My 470 didn't have KDSS, so my 460 feels like it handles way better. I get almost no body roll in corners.

Makes sense. Yeah I can roll our 460 around some corners too and it stays flat. KDSS is really nice for that.
