I like the idea, but, just concerned with battery drain

mine doesn't have parking mode on either (it has it) but i just don't trust the battery drain on these things. Even with the preset shut off.
My trust issues with inanimate objects, lol.

I actually do. I went to Ace Hardware and did the bag your own. The SKU/Part Number was 08236-70114. They were $0.45/ea. They're M5-0.8x20mm

My favorite part of this mod is there are many non-climbers using this handmade chalk bag from San Diego. This company, static?, should just make a specific Tacoma water bottle holder. I just used one on sale from REI, it’s black and I didn’t have to add any screws or any support pieces.

so Taylor does basically have a “Tacoma setup” where she replaces the fleece liner with nylon(I think) and then makes the straps smaller to hold the rod that secures it. I forget the other options but she sends you the list of options when you purchase the bag, just note you are a Taco guy.

I picked up a gently used (8k miles) set of Toytec Aluma 2.0 Coilovers with sway bar relocate, Wheelers Bumps, and 2.0 Aluma Rears on a steal yesterday. Excited to get it in and get my truck lifted.

I accidentally hit the switch to my ditch lights (that's wired directly to the battery at the moment) when I got out of my truck. It was daytime so I didn't realize they were on. They were on for 8 hrs and my truck started. I'm not sure how much a dash cam will pull randomly turning on with motion but I don't see it being enough to kill the battery

My dashcam doesn't have a parking mode or motion sensor (older cam) so it would be constant. I guess what i'm unsure of is the 12v to 5v convertor. If it doesn't seem to have any issues after a while I'll try it in a fuse that's always hot.

stop having older stuff. get with the times man. totally joking as I don't even have a dashcam. But it's now added to list of things I didn't know I needed or don't need but now want.

You could add this little guy in:
    https://www.amazon.com/Electronics-...=low+voltage+disconnect&qid=1645029118&sr=8-9

If battery voltage drops to 10V it kills the line. I'd also consider a dual battery setup with a relay that disconnects the second battery when ACC is off.

    Yep...

I'm one of those people that expects others to do their due diligence when presented with a possible solution, but I've been told that I have unrealistic expectations.

Seems like though that’s when you want your camera on to make sure no one tries to steal or hit and run when it’s parked on top of while it’s driving for crash evidence

My comment is not about the display readings, but is about fuel usage in old non-injected engines.

If you're going to be waiting for over five minutes, shut down the engine. If less than five, let it idle.
Back during the fuel crunch in the late '70s, it was determined that idling for more than 5 minutes used more fuel than what it took to start the engine.
Wonder what the numbers are for this day & age?
