If battery voltage drops to 10V it kills the line. I'd also consider a dual battery setup with a relay that disconnects the second battery when ACC is off.

If you're going to be waiting for over five minutes, shut down the engine. If less than five, let it idle.
Back during the fuel crunch in the late '70s, it was determined that idling for more than 5 minutes used more fuel than what it took to start the engine.

You and me both, brother. I thought about selling my house and most of my other shit, buying one of those, and travel the country for a year or so with my dog. Then I thought about what the hell I'd do after that year was up. Guess it'll just be another dream right now.

Haha, don't think so far ahead and don't give up that dream. I have about 5 years until I retire and I want some kind of a little camper that I can pull around my section of the US. Getting up to Banff would be the cherry on the cake. Actually I could even tent it TBH but we'll see what 57 yr old Minny Taco thinks about that later.

 

Banff... I miss that place. Two winters in a row my vacation has been aborted thanks to the 'Rona.
