Bilstein 5100s has more settings and way cheaper, like more than half the price of the rebranded TRD kit. You don't need a new tss sensor, 1000s of Tacomas have been lifted with no issues, I for one of them. It's just shocks and a block kit. The Bilstein shocks have a lifetime warranty and it won't void the factory warranty. Seriously, what can shocks the cause you a warranty issue? My OEM pro grill was $240 so it's something to think about.

I disagree about not needing a new sensor. It’s been recalibrated to account for the lift. Those changes matter especially in regards to safety. Every second matters.

just my two cents… not looking for a back and forth… just iterating that safety is a big deal.

Do we need this every page? We all understand there are other options but choose to have interest in the OEM lift. I'm sure everyone here is aware they can look at alternatives if they desire. We don't need this reposted again and again and again...

AFAIK, the Pro grill sensor is the same as the others, it just needs recalibrated for the slight change in elevation (and if that is REALLY necessary, it is debatable). I'm not sure why they include an entirely new one as part of the kit, but maybe it is just a liability thing where they don't want to re-use one? Anyone verify that the sensor included in the kit is actually a new part number that is different from their old one, or is it just the same thing?

Factory lift kit. Lomax tri fold Tonneau.
From a Motor Trend article about the TRD lift kit. As for me I prefer to have it set optimal.
To those curious how a lift kit might impact features such as radar-based adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and camera-based lane-departure warning, think of some simple geometry: The relevant sensors are registering objects and their distance from the vehicle. Raise the vehicle, and suddenly the camera for detecting lane markers is "reading" road markings from a different distance, potentially throwing off its calculations for recognizing whether or not the vehicle is or has left its lane. For radar cruise, the angle of attack of the truck's front end plays a role—lift the front end more or less than the rear, and you're in effect "aiming" the radar sensor higher or lower, again messing with the algorithms that manage the truck's forward-collision warning system and its adaptive cruise control's ability to recognize the distance to the vehicle ahead.

It helps so some don't have to read through all the pages, so yes I will post it when I see fit. Don't like it scroll on down is all I can say. Some are clueless and it does help. Also it's not an OEM kit.

So if your raising the front 2 inches and the back one inch your still maintaining a slight rake, then that moves the sensor up two inches. Now adding the Pro grill it puts the sensor back in about the same location as it was. I did the 2/1 lift back in 2018, larger 265/70s and everything works perfectly fine and no issues for 3 plus years. Too much tought into this. My radar cruise works just fine as well as my newly added front camera and the tss as well.

You can buy the longer harnes but its not needed. The cable reaches on the 18 sport and OR to the sensor in the Pro grill. It still has a little play in the wire but a new one is not needed.

So anything that didn’t come from the factory on your truck, even if manufactured and/or sold by Toyota, would be considered aftermarket in your eyes?

Were talking the TRD shocks made by Bilstein. The TRD shocks do not come from the factory, maybe port installed. Correct it did not come from the factory and is not a factory part and is not factory installed. Considered aftermarket maybe not but not oem.

Bro - parsing words aren't you? The TRD Lift kit AS A WHOLE is OEM. But you do you. If you want to parse parts, etc., it's your prerogative. ;)

So by that logic you would also consider the wheels on the 4Runner Pro not OEM as well since they are not manufactured by Toyota and are also installed at the Port? Many of the Pro parts are actually added at the port because Toyota ships them from Japan with steel wheels. I would bet the same is true for Tacoma Pros, but I could be wrong.

I have a stock SR5 and I installed the Pro Grille with the original radar sensor and have had zero issues. When I brought my truck in for service I even asked about it and they said since it’s an OEM sensor panel on the Pro Grille it should have zero issues and no issues with warranty replacement if need be.
