The dudes name on FB is Joe Joe he posts on every Toyota fourm post about how he is the cheapest dealer to order parts from

He's just a pushy salesman who only cares about making a sale over the internet

Gunny used to be the dealer connect for parts but he was chill about it

They allegedly have triple lockers but by the looks of the G-Wagons I've seen on the street I'd be amazed if any of the owners have ever flipped the switches.

It's a shame you can't get a simple utilitarian trim in the US.

Surprise meeting with the head of engineering. That was fun, they’re gonna need a really big bus to fit all those people under.

I'd love to see one all Instagram-overlanded out, but I can't imagine how many "Like-and-Subscribes" it would take to fund that.

I saw a ton of them when I was living in Chicago. Virtually none in Colorado. There are probably some in Denver, I just don't spend much time there. It seems like it would be a great "blizzard be damned, I'm getting on I70 to Aspen" vehicle. Not that I want to encourage that sort of behavior.

Like I said... I'd be into a utilitarian version. Something like this but without the woodgrain or "custom blue and black leather upholstery": https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1998-mercedes-benz-g320-europa-california/

Get to work, and I'm welding up a muffler shut

    20220216_133532.jpg

Apparently there was an accident so they cut open a hole and emptied it out. Since the hard part was done, I just welded the muffler shut, then the metal cover over it.

Didn't get after pics, they had to drive off right away for an order.

Those things are weirdly great, they look like they wouldn't work but they surprise you. I recently broke down and got a Theragun, its so good. Perks of aging.

My wife got one of those but a different kind, one of those deep tissue massage guns. When I first saw it in the case with all its attachments I legit thought it was some kind of wild self-pleasure kit

It does work great though if you've got muscle pain/soreness

Damn those attachments even look like suspect. Mine's a bit tamer. But only a bit.

Nice, never heard of one of those.

Well I got it cause the VA sent it to me after my last doctor's appointment.

I've been having more and more back pain, and it's constant. The issue being that the pain I'm feeling is much more than it would be for those that don't have or never experienced traumatic brain injury or PTSD (which I have both). Neurologist says it's due to what I've been through, that the body manifests and even larger quantity of pain or something.

Anyway I got the Theracane because I refused any and all offered drugs, but can't make the time to get a massage or chiropractor. I'll have to schedule massages if I do want one though, and they'll be provided by the VA.

That's interesting, and also a bummer to hear, sorry you're dealing with it. I've had disc issues over the years from beating myself up in the water, and also have some degeneration, back pain is no joke. I don't use the drugs either, just try and be diligent with PT when I have to and try not to slack on stretching etc, but have been thinking about a chiro appointment. Its not like its gonna get easier as we get older.

It was so interesting that the Neurologist followed up twice already weeks after the appointment about an MRI.

I informed her that I had one a few years ago, but maybe she didn't see that info listed? I had just transferred to a new VA hospital since I just moved months ago.

It just goes back to a book I recall - "The Body Remembers"

Highly recommend it if you're a reader.

Sucks about the discs. If you lived closer I'd offer you my new-in-box Inversion table. I've used one once and it worked wonders; maybe you should look into one if you haven't already? Could help when you're finding it hard to do stretches or PT on your own. Hell, my morning starts with small grip excercises (my hands are hurting every day now too) followed by hanging from the top frame of the doorway; this helps my back stretch as I'm just dead weight holding myself.

Cool to hear you're also not a pill popper

I grew up never having taken anything, dad never believed in it. Maybe that's why I never get sick.

Man I haven't used an inversion table since I was like 20, I actually kind of forgot about them. I'm gonna hit Amazon
Yeah I don't do pain pills. I did once when I had my appendix out but that was it. Not for any tough guy reasons, moreso because I know the harm they can cause can definitely outweigh benefits. Plus there have been times when I knew if I couldn't feel the pain, I'd end up doing something stupid and making the situation worse haha.
