    Hello Lads.

What is your preferred grease gun for those hard to reach zerks on the driveshaft?

    Thanks for the feedback.

This Lincoln with the flexible hose helps with the tricky, hard to reach zerk on my 2nd Gen.

I have 3, one with the black moly grease for u-joints, one with silicone grease for poly bushings and one with a mixture of the two because I tried to send silicone grease through a gun with black moly grease in it. Not sure why I keep that one around, maybe as a reminder.
whatever you get, make sure it has a flexible hose or you get one to go with it. Makes reaching the u-joints much easier

I've got a cheap one from auto zone. All the cheap ones these days are junk, but they get the job done. I don't use it enough to spend the cash on the battery operated ones, but I do love dewalt tools.

I've moved to the mini grease guns. One little tube is plenty for each time I need to lube the taco, and then it doesn't leak nearly so much between uses, and the grease is always fresh. I think I have the lubrimatic gun, it sucks.

    I chose this grease gun:

Slippery Pete Mini Pistol Grip Grease Gun. Heavy Duty Design for 3oz Cartridges. 12 inch Flexible Hose and 5 inch Rigid Extension Pipe https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P67WLZP?_encoding=UTF8

The rigid attachment reached each zerk easily. No needle attachment or flexible tube required.

The micro cartridges were extremely easy to use one-handed. I only used half of the 3oz grease cartridge for the entire drive line.

At home any grease gun will do the trick, as long as it has a flexible hose on it.

This is what I have in my toolbox at work, but honestly isn’t the one I use the most.

One like this, equipped with a 50’ hose on it is my normal go to grease gun. Trucks and heavy equipment will have you reloading a normal grease gun at least 4 times before you’re done with a normal lube job. This grease gun is pretty awesome, and has unbelievable pressure. You can easily squirt grease 50’-75’ away from the nozzle with the air regulator turned up…so I’ve been told. :D

Can’t leave this little jewel out! It’s worth it’s weight in gold. Fill it with penetrating oil or equivalent and put it on a clogged grease fitting, and smack it with a hammer! It will most of the time open it right up. Don’t put brake clean in it after cleaning and heating the component that you’re trying to get to take grease….it could blow the clog out and sound exactly like a 12ga shotgun going off in the shop at the same time…..so I’ve been told :D

Sometimes it’s more than just the gun that makes it difficult to prime. Lots of cases it’s the viscosity of the grease, and how the tube of grease was stored. Should be standing up with the metal peel cap down. You can also pull on your grease gun rod to check for remaining grease. Once it gets close to empty, change it out, don’t continue to use it until you’re pumping air. Electrics have the same trouble, but are easier to prime because it’s not manual. My go to grease gun at home is a cheap Napa pneumatic single shot grease gun. I actually like it better than my electric.
