Bought the adapter to eventually convert my halogen headlights to the OEM LEDs.
    * edit ended up going with the 85$ base harness* (a little different than the one below)

Sent over a quick email before purchasing and Dave replied quickly stating my R4T Grille DRL adapter harness should work with this set up.

Any of you buy this adapter set as well to use it to convert to LED headlights w grille lights?

That is why we like it. Tows well with the Tacoma. Fairly capable and decent ground clearance with the X package. Wife demanded a bathroom with shower or I would have went with an off-road style squaredrop. With a little sun for the solar we have gone 4 nights off the grid and still had 50% fresh water and 50% waste tank available and that was with 1 quick shower each. I like being able to explore the more demanding trails that i don't think a sprinter van could handle, and then head back to camp at the end of the day.

I just bought the plain headlight conversion harness from Dave for my truck. He mentioned the same thing to me about the R4T Grille light harness. If I wanted to add grille lights that harness would work with the plain headlight harness I already had or you can order a harness from him that will have the adapters already installed for headlights and grille lights.

I will say Dave's harnesses are super high quality/labeled neatly and Dave's been helpful with any questions that I've had. I did the TRD PRO led headlight swap last December and don't have any desire to add "raptor" grille lights to my Tacoma.

Thanks for the response man. I plan on doing the same sometime soon. Trd pros are what I’m looking at as well. I have the smoked white raptor lights which I prefer more than amber. Just figured I’d get the grille light harness so I can use the R4t lights I already have.

It took a bit longer than expected trying to figure out where to add the fuse taps and where to ground since I'm not the best at electrical. Also, taking apart the center console wasn't my favorite but overall I'd say it is worth it.

Wondering if I didn’t need to get the $135 one if I can still use the regular one with the R4t harness

He’s working on V2 , which reuses the OEM cover. As you can see it also has spares and a fuse puller too.

I think that's what Dave told me. The R4T grille light harness will plug directly into his regular headlight harness. You can't go wrong with either choice. I think he mentioned his all in one harness was a bit more tidy if you're a little ocd. If not, the R4T grille light harness was a pinch cheaper, but not much.

    Yep, pretty good summary.

I could be convinced to lower my pricing on the grille light option a little bit. It's currently priced the same as the $85 harness plus a $50 DRL T harness but it's slimmer and compatible with my v5 harness. I don't get a ton of volume on it but I'm not sure how many are put off by the price. I'd say $120 is the floor b/c it takes quite a bit more labor for me to produce and it's an extra complication, also an extra dollar to ship and some extra parts. Soldering diodes is really no fun. If $10 is a big deal to people, maybe whine to me via DM and see if I'm willing to be soft.

Most people get the basic conversion harness. But I think at least one guy bought some other harness and then bought mine afterwards to gain the extras. I run my own harness now, after starting with a basic Mike one before I got into this stuff, but right now I'm only using it for grille lights as I have been a ridiculous slacker on installing my puddle pods and v5's due to spending all my time building stuff for other guys to have nice trucks :)

Anyway, chat me up here or DM or in my headlight thread linked in my sig if anyone has suggestions for what you think would make sense.

Link to the USP ports? What did you tap into to get power to them?

I just talked to him. He was super quick on the response. I cancelled the order and went with the 85$ harness instead as it suits my needs. Didn’t need the other one. Thanks again!

Hey where'd you get the USB ports? I need to find one that'll fit in the switch slot in the center console under the stereo. I believe their called small toyota style switch size on CH4x4

Didn't snag any pictures sadly... but I took out that dang needle bearing and replaced it with the ecgs bushing. That thing was a pita to get out without the removal tool haha. But I officially have a modified puller for it now haha.

Also, all vibes and noises gone! Thank goodness.

Me too! Luckily, Ohio dropped them as a requirement last year, so no more risk without one!
