Ok so I'm trying to decide on these 2. I have 2022 MT DCSB TRD OR.

I've read a lot of the pros and cons of both. They seem to cost about the same. I have experienced neither.

I like the idea of the pedal commander not changing anything and the ability to return it if I don't like it. I can change the settings. I also understand some people find it doesn't work well on their truck.

From what I have read people like tuning better and have better results. I've read all the testimonials about "why did I wait so long??!" No external device needed. It seems safe and undetectable by toyota. It also seems to have it retuned costs additional depending on who does the tune. I also am worried about the reliability of tuners since they are essentially "hacking" your computer.

Anyway, looking for some insight on this. Thank you.

if you have the MT then you owe it to yourself to do two things:
    1) get a tune, not the PC (i had it before the tunes were even available going back to 2016), Yotawerx, KD Pro, there are many good ones now.
    2) do your ADM to enjoy how great it is driving this MT. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mt-accumulator-delete-mod-adm-and-bs-thread.568303/

by the way, if you don't like a tune you flash to your truck's ECU, you can flash back to the original stock file any ol time. no issues with that.

Man, the ADM is just a little out of my comfort zone.... But I can understand how it would help. The clutch is so damn "soupy"

I drove my new truck for 10 thousand miles and dealt with it the way it came because I had the same reservations about a tune and accumulator as you……

Keep reading responses here and other threads about them and you’ll get more comfy with it all. They are both substantial improvements!

I’m at 40k trouble free now

Which method of accumulator mod did you do?

    I used a hard line.

Not as easy as a dremel to the accumulator but not bad at all. In hindsight I’d do the dremel, less potential for leaks and problems I’d guess.

If I did it, I would do the Dremel method. I haven't found a good tutorial on it though.

Seems like buying the OEM elbow would be the easiest. It's a $15 part and matches the existing hoses. With the Dremel I'd be worried about metal shavings getting into the tranny fluid.

I just flashed the KD Max tune and plan to do the ADM. Never done PC but the tune is great, gets rid of the power surge at 3500 rpm. I dont think PC addresses that.

Apples and rotten oranges comparison in functionality and pretty sure price.

My suggestion is drive it as is for a few thousand miles. It might suit you just fine as is.

    Oh look, another mod....
I have heard pro's & con's about both, but ultimately I went with the Sprint Booster (it's the same as a Pedal Commander).

I chose that because I'm very nervous about flashing my ECU to do the Tune option. Sure, it does more, but I'm still worried. The Sprint Booster is plug-n-play. I can remove it at anytime and it doesn't require changing the ECU. My biggest worry was voiding my powertrain warranty.

I've had it on my truck for over 7 months and it works great. I've had zero problems with it. I believe the cost for it is the same as the Tuning option.

I had a Pedal Commander on another truck. Used it for about 1 week. Yes it does increase throttle response, but all I had to do was push the gas pedal in harder and get the same result.
    Get a tune.

No experience with them on Tacomas, but I knew a few folks who tried Sprint Booster/Pedal Commander type things with MINI Coopers. All they do is eliminate a bit of lag that is built into the normal ECU's throttle response. If that is all you are looking for, it works. They do nothing for actual engine performance.

I do have a manual so shift points are not an issue.

Pedal commander has a high chance of throwing you into limp mode. Been mentioned plenty of times on the forum. Even higher if you decide to get tuned further on down the road.

Personally, I'd buy vF and build a tune that suits your needs. There are some people still helping others with edits on here.
