Just need a tcase to start my 4x conversion. Had one but found out it was for a manual FJ.

Why not? Best theft deterrent these days is having a manual vehicle. All these thieves don't know how to drive manual.

Honestly I don't blame you. Manual truck's are just not fun to drive.

 

Those FJ t-cases are ultra sought after. If it was a good price you should definitely buy it, even just to flip it. Make sure "for a manual" isnt being confused with "manual shift" transfer case lever.

 

Correct. You can't use the FJ tcase from a manual transmission FJ. Won't bolt up to the auto trans. You need the FJ tcase from an automatic FJ, which will still be a manually shifted tcase. I've done the swap in my 4Runner.

 

They are hard to find, I was able to swap the tcase out for Tranny and pay the difference.
Another member from TW pointed it out when we talked about the hi/lo solenoids for the light cluster.

 

Exactly what i found out. At the time i was shocked to find one local so quickly i bought it up without realizing the difference.

Anyone know a credit union in the valley that doesnt require an emissions test to finance a car? Im trying to sell my VW and Desert Financial wont do the deal without a passed emissions test. The car would pass a sniffer, it has a cat but the tune has the O2 readiness turned off to keep any CELs at bay. Car is not currently registered in a place that requires emissions and the new owner will not be registering it where emissions are required but the credit union still insists.

 

Could he use like OneAZ but a branch up here to get away from that?

 

Can you modify the tune to turn o2 back on for emissions?

 

Ive been trying to research this. “Its possible” and I even have the software on my laptop to do it but its not simple. The shop that did the tune wants me to pay to reflash it and flash it back. Ill wind up spending thousand of dollars and Id rather just keep the car.

 

@Atl-atl if you have the software, would you be able to save the tune and try to flash stock? Or just ask someone on the forums if they know how to turn the o2s back on?

 

I might be able to help if you have the software. I could connect remotely and take a look at the map if you have it saved. What software is it?
