I'm starting to acquire recovery gear for my truck: traction boards, tow straps, etc... Which prompted me to look at the attachment points on the front of the truck.

Driver's side has the welded on loop, but I am missing the bolted on hook on the passenger side. I'm not really interested in replacing with the factory hook since it seems to be not the best design for retaining a rope. So I'm looking for something that will bolt into the factory bolt holes.

Any recommendations, links to websites or products you like are appreciated.

Smittybilt 7505 fit well for me. Two of the three holes lined up but it sits at a little angle. But, I have used it with no issues. I dont recall if I used the oem bolts or if I bought longer ones.

I believe BPF had or has/makes them. I have both for now (stock bumper) unless I go steel down the road

wanted something to be pulled or pull with from the front of the need ever arises that is better than stock. The stock one is only a tie down point meant for use transporting the truck during shipping.

    there’s also others like ARB

didn’t make sense to have points in the rear (steel) and nothing up front

Hidden tow receiver is another option

Forgot to point out I installed my chrome Smittybilt just over ten years. It has some rust but no flaking. And it comes with a clip to prevent rope/strap from falling off the hook. I paid $11 in 2012 from Amazon. Now up to $21, but still a good vale imo.

I saw the hidden tow receiver with two shackle points offered by one of the vendors just now. Looks pretty nice and functional.

Access the hitch pin by reaching in between grill and radiator. Might be tight with a coat on.IMG_20220221_082618296.jpg
