    Thank you all for the well wishes!
    It was a mostly sleepless night, But I managed to get through it.
    Seems the fire is staying east of town by 2-3 miles. Sounds like Cal-Fire is gonna bring in a bunch of equipment and knock this thing down. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

    So why does Inyo county/Big Pine/Owens Valley need a dredge barge? You guys are kind of deserty and mountainy to be needing deep waterways.

    Also the Coast Guard guy in me thinks I really need to do a vessel inspection on that thing. I see several discrepancies o_O

    We use the dredge at the Intake. This is the junction where Owens River water is diverted into the Aqueduct and exported to Los Angeles. The river bottom in front of the control gates collects sand/silt, so we dredge that material. :thumbsup:

    Is it the “S.S. Creed” moniker that has you concerned Mr. Coast Guard?? :confused: :eek:

    (To be honest it does make the craft look a bit less sea-worthy…)
