I think Advance Auto in Stoughton still has a couple of regular cab Tacomas.

 

Truck is probably worth $12K-$15K in good condition; I'm expecting the damage to exceed $4K...

 

How long you had it so far..any rust, other issues, etc?

Oh trust me they will go after them. The insurance company has a legal team and that's what you pay the company for, so you don't have to chase it. I was in a not at fault accident a few years ago and I never had to pay a dime..the companies dealt with it.

Not being a Toyota, in above average condition, and having the new frame etc you just got.

I want to say Bagnell has some still..Rockland I think?

I did rattlecan it black because the original finish started to get dull; Other than that, no issues...

 

Really? My dad bought the truck new in 2009 for like $14,900! MSRP was like $17,713 or something...?

 

Remember you just got a new frame, brake lines, LCAs, leafs (I think) plus I recall you paying for the water pump and other stuff. That's gotta bump you up higher. Plus the mods you have done..not that all of them will have value in resale but enough will such as cruise, the wiper mod..

 

Wait for the cards to play out. Nothing you can do until the offer is made.

Personally I think it will NOT be totaled.

Funny thing, my mothers car was stolen just over 2 years ago.
When we found it, it was a mess inside. No body damage or any real major damage.
Our first mistake was requesting finger prints. That powder gets all over EVERYTHING, and it almost never leads to any arrest. Even the police themselves said it.

Now for the crazy part. I noticed there was brass cleaning pads and brass wires all over the car. I couldn’t figure out why? Strange for sure. And a really weird smell. Smelt like burnt shit lol.

Finally, the weekend rolled around and we got time to clean the car up. While cleaning it, we found pill bottles. So, we called the police once again. When they got there, the officer asked who had driven it home. (I did). He said that was probably a really bad idea, because paraphernalia was consistent with methamphetamine. And that the pills were supposedly stamped as OxyContin. But apparently there had been many fakes, and some contained Fentanyl.

Anyways, the insurance company TOTALED the vehicle. As they didn’t want to replace the interior. It was bad, really bad. The finger print powder alone was bad enough trying to clean up. And couldn’t risk the chances of anyone be contaminated. Apparently Fentanyl is really dangerous. Plus my mother has an Autoimmune disease, so that probably played a large roll in their decision to “total” it. They even offered to compensate me for my clothes. Which I never followed up on. I kind of found it ridiculous. I’m not that desperate. Lol

I drove the car home, I haven’t died yet.

And yes, the officer that fingerprinted the car missed the pill bottles.
But for her sake, the car was muddy inside, outside, and stunk like shit.
She probably just wanted to get out of it ASAP.
I don’t blame her.

Someone out there got a really nice Honda Pilot.
But they were definitely going to have to put in a lot of time cleaning it up.

 

If anything I’d take the totaled 5 lug money and pocket that and buy a 4x4 SR5 taco in a few years.

 

I just watched “cleaner” with Samuel L yesterday. Your story reminds me similar story to that. But I’d not take the chance. Anybody who steals a 94 Lincoln continental is bound to be on drugs.

 

Who ever stole this one took the head rests out of all the seats.
They didn’t steal them, they were all just laying in the car.
They did leave 1 single flip-flop. (It wasn’t ours either)

An excavator at a metal recycling facility knocked two pipes off a pile of scrap metal, and one of them slammed into the side of my truck!

 

Thanks to the obscenity of the price to mileage ratio, I'm much less worried about my truck getting totaled...

 

And 3rd Gens are even more obscene!

 

There's one in Stoughton as well. They have all sorts of vehicles, including a couple of Tacos.

From the outside they look bare bones. You probably can't get them with manual windows and door locks thes days.

Or AM only radios.
