At KOH there was a few rc crawlers with “noise boxes” connected to the throttle to make them sound like they had lil v8’s with rev limiters. Wonder if you can download an app for your Tesla for that

 

I'd be lying if I said I didn't want one. Auto pilot on long cross country trips would be sweet. Lots of boredom between Denver and Dallas that I do yearly

Not sure how lead times are now but I can confirm that the magnuson kit comes with injectors because the kit I ordered in September was held up until January waiting on injectors that had to ship via slow boat.

Also, get the tuner kit without software and use HPTune (I'm having @JustDSM flash an ecu for me in the next month hopefully).

in terms of doing this for $6k...if you install yourself and don't do anything other than the supercharger kit and tune you'll hit that, once you realize what you'll get from headers, a fuel pump, a smaller pulley, an equal length y-pipe, an intake...............

 

So I'm getting P0351-P0356 codes, ignition coil primary/secondary circuit malfunction . Will one bad coil trip the other five in some catastrophic event? Anybody have a bad FPR before? Just wondering if you picked up any strange codes? Does/can a bad FPR cause such a rich condition that may be? My wiring looks solid as the day it's been running but now these CEL come in as soon as my FJ stalls after 20 seconds of idling. Discussing with @BassAckwards and said it might be the funky UCON at it again. Anybody else have the same trouble?

 

That would indicate you have all 6 cylinders misfiring.

How many miles do you have on your rig? Depending on the mileage and the symptoms you are experiencing, you may want to do an investigative cylinder leakage test to make sure that your head gasket integrity is sound. If all is fine then you may very well have a UCON issue. It wouldn't be the first time we've seen issues stemming from the setup.

 

Dude I told you to come down the road and take mine for a drive. It’ll give you all the chub you need to make the jump. Mines got the bully dog tune (not for long and I don’t recommend it) and urd 8.25 pulley. My guess is that’s exactly what you’re looking for

FYI Ripp has not dyno'd a 2nd gen tacoma yet. Only the 4runner with dual vvti. So the gains on the website i would assume is from a dual vvti 4runner.

 

And that is why I just bought a set of OEM. Seems like the tuners all recommend OEM and that these aftermarket options are not an improvement. The Toyota coil packs have a good record. I think Gadget had issues with the Accel coil packs years ago, something about the 1GR FE did not agree with them.

188k miles. About 10k on the engine since I've replaced the head gaskets, coil packs, timing chain, and s/c install. No contamination in the oil or radiator. Regular blow by and moisture in the catch can when observed. Grounds and harness connections haven't budged and are snapped in tight.

When cold starting, Engine sounds fine. Then after 20 seconds, decides to stall.

 

Can you unhook the ucon and start it up and let it idle? if the symptom goes away, then you have a good idea what it is.

 

This is where i'd start as well. Cheaper than sourcing another ECU/HPtune before you know for sure that UCon is the problem

random thought- why dont we ever discuss cylinder head porting/ tweaking? are these as good as it gets?
