Lower ball jts put up a bit of a fight tonight. . I'm a tierod away from being finished. According to the misses running the impact a 3am is a no go.
Took out 2 pitman arm pullers. The heavy duty one is super fiddly but got the job done with a huge poow!!

I can’t remember what all I’ve asked related to this, but have you noticed whether the idle settles down if you restart the truck once it’s up to temp?

does it idle down if you manually force the throttle closed where the linkage connects to tb?

Any forward to back play for the butterfly? Such as if you push and pull the axis of the butterfly, does it move?

I know this has been giving you fits for a while, but I will say I was pretty amazed at how long it took my computer to relearn. My code reader said pending for the first 2-3 fuel tanks after resetting my ecu (I was having tb issues at the time as well). Cleared itself and settled down once that happened.

This. I chased the code for a month or so and finally replaced all the gaskets pre/post cat and headers, including o2 sensor gasket and fixed it.

There is an actual checklist if things an engine will check during the relearning process. Its is possible that your ecu relearned during that time as it would have been running way lean, possibly giving to too much fuel and not letting the idle drop. The idle and code are most likely related. Once again, check for vac leaks on ALL the hoses, then unplug the battery for 5 minutes, take the car for a drive, get it up to temp, freeway speed, etc.

    Example:

Copy that. All the hoses are new as well. I’ll double check anyways and try a couple other things too.

Yeah it should have adjusted by now.

When I reset my computer it idles high for maybe 10 miles or so, then it’s back to normal. These computers aren’t that smart/complicated.

Same. Mine has never taken more than a day to relearn and go back to normal idle. My money is on the butterfly valve in the TB letting air leak passed. Or the aftermarket iac valve

So there should be no space between the butterfly valve and TB? It should be completely closed?

You should'nt be able to see any light coming through it when you hold it up to a lamp, that means it's worn and would cause your idle issues for sure. Someone a page or so back posted a pic of what that looks like. Didn't you just clean it recently? A lot of times the gunk is what keeps it sealed on higher mileage TBs and when that gunk gets cleaned out it's now letting too much air through.

I think there's a place called Max Bore that people send theirs out to get re-bored at

Ya it got cleaned when I did my valve cover gaskets about a year and a half ago and cleaned again in December but there wasn’t much at all to clean. I’ve heard a lot of good things about MaxBore and for the price it seems worth it. It would just be a major inconvenience since this is my dd and me and my gf are both full time working or in school so I don’t exactly have an extra car to use for a week+ while my TB gets serviced. Maybe I can find one in a yard for cheap and use that temporarily. Who knows. I think I’m gonna rip this thing apart again today so I’ll keep you guys posted on what I find!

Yeah definitely check it before committing to a new TB or rebore. Could still just be that aftermarket IAC

No real information in these pictures. Was just deciding whether or not I needed the bed to find some travel numbers. I will for sure, neat to see what the orbits look like in action though.

So here’s what we’re looking at so far. From what I can tell there’s no space for air to be getting past. I’ll try to hold it to the sun and look for any light in a sec.

Picked up a set of wheels and tires and I'm digging the new look.

Was running 17" Regamaster wheels, but always felt so paranoid parking it anywhere I couldn't see it so I came across a set of 15" Rota Slipstreams on KO2s for a good deal so I picked those up to swap out for the time being.

They gave me flack when I asked for a replacement for a burnt diode after 3 years. I'm like... I paid your stupid 2000% markup, least you could do is stand behind your product.

Btw mine looks the same intentionally, just on the speedo side.
