After years of primarily using a laptop keyboard I bought myself a Logitech G413 TKL SE and I'm amazed at how strong my instinct to use the (non-existent) numpad is.

I have this old habit of typing things with my left hand and then using my right thumb to hit the numpad enter key without taking my hand off the mouse. I've tried to do it at least 5-10 times today.

I might have to exchange this for the full-sized version.

Thanks! I’m loving the fact that it’s an ongoing project. Maybe I can add some under slung toolboxes next. Or paint the tie downs I added last summer…

Have you considered a Bluetooth ten key? I hate that the laptops with the 10 key offset the touchpad to one side, feels really awkward to me since the screen is now a little bit to the right if I’m lined up on the keyboard.

I've had those offset keyboards on work-provided laptops. I agree about the awkwardness. The laptops that have those also tend to be uncomfortably large. I've had several Dell Precision mobile workstations that were 8-9lbs if you included the power brick. Not fun to commute with when you're getting around by bicycle.

I spend most of my time on a 13" Macbook Pro these days, which has a decent keyboard. It's one from after Apple admitted that the butterfly keyboards were awful and went back to normal scissors.

I tried a standalone numpad once. I must not have been impressed because I don't even remember what happened to it. I don't miss the numbers themselves as much as I miss having an enter key in a consistent place near my thumb. Now that I think about it more, the MBP keyboard's main enter key is close enough to the edge that I use that in the same way. I guess that's how the habit survived.

    You're in Monrovia?

A long way I suspect. The first auto engine I remember from Yamaha was the 3.0L DOHC engine in the Taurus SHO around 1987.

Yeah I remember the SHO, those things revved pretty damn high.

But I meant the partnership with Yota.

It was a lightweight aerodynamic car. The SHO would haul ass.

Think Yamaha had a hand in the LFA as well. Which is still for sale but no longer produced? Like I guess old stock with no date of first use so it’s still “new”.
