So recently when making a really sharp turn, i hear a LOUD pop/clunk sound that seems to be coming from my front end. Anybody have any ideas?

I have one but its when I start going slow from a stop then apply the brakes. I know people say floating brake pads and I used to hear that sound now the sound is hugely increased so my thought a wheel bearing but that doesnt help you lol

When did you install the lift? Have you re-torqued all the components you replaced?

I think there is metal on metal contact on the knuckle at full lock just like the old Toyota trucks.

Spring shifting in the plate? Bad strut top? Bad ball joint? Or are you saying when You're at steering lock and moving (like in a parking lot) you hear it. Most cars have turn stops which are almost always metal to metal.. but the grind more than pop.

On my OLD tacoma, the a/c would drip onto the sway bar/stabilizer bar and cause the rubber bushing to chatter. So you could actually get out of the car and rock it back and forth and get a "pop pop pop" every time it rocked. Pretty loud since it was right at your foot.

Was fun trying to get them to diagnose that... "it makes a loud pop on hot days whenever I turn left." Take the service guy for a ride, he'd hear it, then the tech would "could not duplicate customer complaint".

It's the CV shaft. There's about a 1/4" play in it. At least on my truck I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

    You don't want to know...

    What he said^

Mine does it too... PreRunner here.

Look under the truck from the front by your wheel, you will see the contact point, thats what makes the noise.
