Finally got around to adding a winch disconnect. The idea behind it is to isolate the thick un-fused wire in case of an accident. You don’t want that thing flopping around and causing a vehicle fire. You drive around with it off and then switch it on before you hit the trails.

 

Do you have a dashcam brand that you're particularly attached too? I need to get one, some of these drivers are nightmare fuel

 

So far I’ve owned two Viofo and have a friend with a Viofo (all different models) and I like them all. The a119 is a solid cam in its price range.

 

I bought the truck used with 11k miles on it, no way I could rack them up that quickly! And sadly no, that is not the 7.3, it's not even an excursion, just a pickup with a shell on it. It doesn't even have the cool V10 as far as I'm aware.

 

Unless you are a ride share driver, the need for a camera on the driver has always perplexed me...

 

Could be useful if I’m ever the victim of a car jacking, the camera has parking mode so it could see if someone attempts to enter the truck, could prove useful to prove I wasn’t texting and driving in some situations, ridiculous drive thru interactions, etc. Very specific scenarios, but it wouldn’t necessarily hurt anything. It’s not like this footage is gonna be uploaded to a cloud so it’s not a privacy concern.

Step 3. Make it your cellphone ringtone
Step 4. (optional) add Metal Gear voiceover intro and catchy tune; go viral on tiktok.

 

Fortunately, I had an Anderson plug on mine. It came unhooked during my accident and probably saved me from going up in flames.
