Those prices seem awful high for a used truck with that kind of mileage. If you're set on used, I'd buy the lower mileage sport. I'd consider a new SR as others have mentioned though, depending on what you plan to do with the truck. The difference between Offroad, sport, SR isn't insane. At least an SR you can do what you want to it in terms of suspension and wheels/tires without paying sport/offroad prices for parts you're just going to replace.

Yup look into the SR. I just ordered 4x4 double cab and it’ll be $35k OTD brand new 2022. Has radar cruise, rear cam, all the safety sense stuff, CarPlay, etc. I was also looking at the used market and it is just stupid crazy right now.

    Oh look, another mod....
We are living in times where it is cheaper to buy a new car, than a used car.

It's nuts, like, who is buying these trucks to support these used prices?

Bought my 2020 in late 2020, with 9K miles and haven't seen anything close to the price I got. Glad I bought when I did cuz, DAMMMM, used Tacos are way more expensive now.

Thanks for all the input guys. I want to stick with the sand tan color so I probably won’t get a brand new one but I’ll look for a newer one then. I know the prices are high and the market is crazy. Maybe I’ll just stick w my subie for a bit longer till they go down.

I like the SR too and found one for a decent price but don’t like the back seats for when we have 3 of us traveling. If it were just me I’d go for it.

    Couple things here;
as people have noted, buying used right now is almost a crazy concept. It doesn't seem like you care about trim, so I also vote to go for a lower trim brand new for probably within 5-7k of those prices. As far as different trim levels, research them. Learn them. Don't fall prey to not knowing what you're buying. Going in blind gives them the opportunity to upsell a lower trim, and you possibly only care because of the color of the truck or look of the grille. Thats an expensive game to play. At the same time, you may sacrifice some really cool features for picking a lower trim, but you'll never know if you don't check out the differences between them all.

My God this market sucks. I thought I was a little crazy for stretching to go ahead and buy my 2019 Sport with 6k on the clock in January 2020, but I'm glad I did. $31.5k out the door.

    Seems like a bargain, now.

Yep pretty much same here. 30.5K in Nov 2019 with 8.5K on the odo for my '19 Sport. It's threads like these that talk me down when I want to sell or trade in.

I paid low 30's for my 2016 TRD 4X4 OR with 0 miles on it and it was the first 3rd Gen Tacoma the dealership sold.
Sooo, the market today is the same price for the same truck but with 100,000 miles +/- on it ??? Wow.
Great if you are a seller.

Wow prices for used vehicles... I know that everyone knows this but it still surprises me.... If it were warmer I'd sell my 19 SR for like 2 or 3 trillion dollars and ride my motorcycle.... it only cost me 25k otd inc tax in 19

Ugh the guy who posted the thread for one. Imagine all the older folks who don't reach around online and assume "used must be cheaper, duh..."

Love how people do little to no research on vehicles prior to buying them.

Absolutely insane right now. The truck I bought off lease two years ago With 23,000 now has 38k. I went in for an oil change and they offered me $6500 more than I paid for it…… unsolicited – they approached me. Not only that but what they offered was literally more than the sticker on my truck brand new. I would not buy a truck right now.

The folks P.T. Barnum was talking about.

Even sadder is Ziggy says 84.95% of these buyers don't even need a truck.

While i'm not into serious off-roading, or seeing trucks with hood scoops which is plain silly imo. I wouldn't pay that either for any one of them. Heck, an sr or sr5 is a very good basic truck that has performed well for me. You can get them with additional technology packages if preferred.
