I had done a quick search to see if there is already a post on this, I have a 2021 TRD Pro with MT. I have noticed that there is a very noticeable issue with throttle lag, for lack of a better term. After it's warm I have noticed that it has a slight lag that is very noticeable then it sort of jumps after a few seconds. When cold it is very jumpy! There is less that 3000 mi. on and I have not contacted the dealer yet. i figured I would try and gather as much information I can before I reach out to the dealer. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I had a 2012 standard issue with the MT 4x4 4 cyl. and never experienced this with that model.

Welcome to Toyota's crappy throttle mapping. Almost everyone on the forum has experienced this. Go find someone who can load the KD Maxx tune on the truck and move on with a smile on your face. $450 or so well spent.

Yes we have pretty much all experienced that issue lol

There are solutions but none will be found with the dealership!

I noticed mine lags when idling, pushing the gas pedal and there is a lag before the engines revs up. Never had this happen in my 1-2 Gen but they were not controlled by a computer like this one has. Just saying.

I have a manual as well.... Same issues.. Had the gears done recently, but still had the cold engine stumble.... Had truck tuned a couple of weeks ago, no more issues at all.. Truck drives 100% better. Like everyone else says, consider getting the truck tuned... You won't regret it.

Also notice that it doesn't drop quick in RPM's when shifting. Which creates a different jump when shifting.

everything you report is normal from the factory. yeah it's no good. the tunes are a huge solution, but still not perfect for everyone.. i went beyond just the tunes to deal with the lag, etc. but the point is to start with a solid tune and take it from there.
