Thanks! Yea I don't like tire swingouts. My pile is long enough as is.
So far they're great. Looking forwards to the drive to Hammers and really getting a feel for them out there.

Some pics of the new stance. Not sure if it'll settle any more, but I like how it turned out. Just a little bit of rake.

Flexed it out with a forklift to check for clearances and make sure everything is playing nicely together.

King of the hammers was a blast. It definitely lived up to the hype. Already looking forward to next year.
Camped out there for 4 days. Met up with some buddies and saw some friends race.

The truck performed great. The new springs and rear end are a massive improvement over the prior setup. More up travel in the rear and sitting more in the middle of the travel means I can smash through some more aggressive terrain with more speed. JV was the perfect place to test that.
Was able to hit some sections at like 20mph that would previously leave my rear end bucking. I'm sure some tuning would go a long ways as well.

One thing I need to do now is make some way to keep the lids in place on my sleeping platform so they don't go flying when I hit fast bumpy sections like that. Every time I went out, they would get yeeted off

Unfortunately didn't get to do any crawling while I was there, as I wasn't about to go by myself since I didn't have any buddies with rigs there (that weren't racing that is).

Didn't take too many pictures on my nice camera, but here's some of the ones I did take

Fixed the problem where the shackle bolt on my OME greaseable shackles wasn't big enough for the bushing in the alcan springs

Got a 5" long 3/4in greasble bolt and drilled out the shackle plates to accept the larger bolt.

Well I crumpled the tubing under the leaf perch on my rear axle housing the other day.

Went snow wheeling and was trying to bounce up this tall snow shelf. Came down hard a couple times in the rear and I think that's what did me in. I have a few theories as to what might have contributed to the failure at that point, but I think ultimately it came down to it just being thinner material from the beginning and some metal fatigue over time with 260k+ miles on it.

    Bad side

Time for a fabricated housing. Try and bend 1/2" tubes ;)

Saw everyone post stuff on IG. There was one ledge that was pretty gnarly.

I know I saw Izzy and Mario post about it.

Diamond Axle has my vote. My dad has been running them since 2008 and he's never bent it. Brian also backs his axles with a lifetime replacement warranty saying if you break his axle, he'll build you a new one for free.

Welp I called Ruff stuff and they said that they aren't making housings right now because they don't have a welder to do them.
They couldn't give me an eta on when to check back either.

And the 8.4 TG housing is a builder housing so I would have to cut it down and weld flanges onto which I don't have a bandsaw or the desire to do. The other built one they offer with flanges is for a regular 8in diff.

Sent an email to front range about a Diamond housing, since their phone system just got straight to a voicemail box that is full.
Not sure about the leadtime on a diamond housing, but I might be back to looking at a scrapyard housing if I can't get one in time for a trip first week of june.

It's driveable now and not leaking, but I don't wanna push my luck on a leaf perch that's already compromised.

Unfortunately not getting a fabbed housing quickly. @turbodb I think is like 3 months+ into waiting on a housing from Diamond.

Time for a junkyard housing. I'd cut the factory perch off, split some tube and weld it in that section, and weld on a new perch. Wish I did that when I swapped housings.

Yea after talking to some folks, I think that's the route. Heard some stories from people about insane lead times from Diamond and poor customer support.

And yup, reinforce in all those areas
