How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Love this truck. This is the exact same thing I'm getting (TRD Premium interior + tech pkg) but don't have the steps. Coming with predators, having them take them off. Talked to dealer today, mine was built 1/28 and still "In Transit" he has no clue where it is

 

Same for my Pro. Was supposed to be built week 3 of the year; was built last week with delivery by week 3-4 of March. Also been waiting since last year, so what’s another couple weeks.

 

Had a similar miserable experience with that dealership. I had deposits with two dealers (one was McDonald) and when the other dealer came through first, I asked McDonald for my “fully-refundable” deposit back….I got it back but not without a load of BS from them. They really showed their true colors. I’m sure someone else will be happy with the ELM TRD Pro that I backed out of that McDonald said they were not sure they could sell since they were counting on me to buy it. What a LOL fest…..

 

Are you kidding? In this market? They had a buyer before you got home or off the phone, and the person was likely through financing before you got to the bank with your refund. They are ridiculous for telling you that.

 

Tacomas also being built in Guanajuato, MX (just north of Mexico City)

 

That was my bad. I scanned the post quickly and read it as “only built in Mexico”…missed Baja. Knew that they are built in Guanajuato as mine was built there. Not 100% sure but thought I read a while back that Toyota was shifting all production of Tacomas from the Baja plant to the Guanajuato plant or may have already done so.

I don't understand how a bunch of metal stuff inside a bunch of metal containers catches fire and spreads... but this is coming from a guy who struggles starting a brush fire.

Baja is still cranking them out and has been for years. Guanajuato was added so all production in MX now. San Antonio was retooled to make room for Sequoia since it shares platform with Tundra.

Got a VM from my dealer this morning. The request to add the LED headlights wasn’t accepted…. Truck is supposed to be built March 3rd. It has everything I want, and nothing I don’t. Just doesn’t have the LED lights. Haven’t heard anything from any of the 4 other dealers I’ve have requests in with. Been waiting since August of last year.

Really torn on if I should take it or keep holding out.

 

You've waited all this time ... I hate that for you though man, that's rough. I know the feeling. I put my trade-in in Carmax today and it's worth 1k more than it has been lately. definitely lights a fire under your pants to find something.

Does anyone know where the bi-monthly allocations show up first? Inventory tools shows 0 new off-road DCLB hit yesterday...

Exactly, and it appears that they are still in business this morning, so I’m glad my $500 deposit refund didn’t ruin them.

 

True…so many have NO idea Corgis are bred for that purpose! Those short little legs have payoff around cows!

 

Does anyone know if port installed accessories can be added or removed while vehicle is in allocation? Dealer is saying no but I feel like they just want extra profit from the accessories because that's an easy way to markup MSRP. Being forced to get Paint protection film, door edge guards, and other useless stuff I don't want or need.

 

I’ve wondered this but it makes sense if that’s the vehicle thats been allocated since they don’t get the vehicle free. Especially in this market, I’m sure they aren’t looking to eat the cost of or sit on a bunch of accessories that they may or may not sell

 

Welcome! Dealers that will allow you to change port / dealer installed options are rare. I couldn't believe it when my allocation finally came through and the truck was being built without running boards. I hadn't seen one without them the whole time I was searching for a truck.
