if you pull this up on a large monitor y ou can really tell that on the silver sky its not as flaky and the gloss of the clearcoat takes charge but on the one in the front its really the metallic that takes center stage

Same. Sometimes pictures don't accurately capture a finish in all it's glory. I can say this. I almost passed on going with my instinct for silver due to looking at 2021 and older Silver Sky Metallic. To me, they all look dull and flat. I was set to either go with black or lunar as a backup color selection. I few posts back I posted some pics from a lot of a Celestial Silver Metallic on a sunny day. It looks gooooood. I was sold. Go take a look at one in person. You can usually find a 2WD sitting on a lot somewhere for color comparison. The metal flake seemed much larger than SSM and much more reflective overall. Overcast days don't help pics of CSM that much either. That's why I was excited to find one on a sunny day.

I definitely see lighter highlights in this than Silver Sky Metallic. No matter what, I'm in. Silver was my first choice but I could never find a TRD OR access cab in silver and then it got discontinued.

 

I think it does appear lighter than SSM in some pics. I guess it has more metal flake than my SSM, but the SSM is by no means dull or dark in general.

I actually think the silver shows off the body lines of the Taco extremely well and I'm sure the new CSM will highlight them even better. Lots of people rag on a silver taco since it is such a popular tone in general on cars nowadays, but it's a classic for a reason.

I still am looking forward to encountering one in the wild.

Man... That pic of your truck looks so good. I bounced back and forth on finish. I was looking at black, lunar rock, and magnetic grey metallic. I am glad that I went and looked at a 2WD access cab sitting on the lot before I decided. I saw it on a sunny day, one like yours in the pic. CSM might not get the attention it deserves, but man does it look sharp! My DCSB OR should be here mid April.

 

So its a glossy version of Silver Sky?

 

Oh man, the bronze wheels on CSM look even better than I had hoped. My wife is not gonna be happy when I try to sneak new wheels & tires in.
