I have been agonizingly considering a suspension upgrade for well over a year.

Stock 2015 double cab OR. 72k miles. No significant weight in the back. Stock size tires. I tow a 5000 pound boat/trailer locally. Off-road mildly periodically. Would off road more if my suspension wasn’t so, well, old.

    What I’m thinking is this:

5100 coil overs in front, with new coils. Stock coils? Something else? Planning on 3rd setting for 1.1” lift.

5100 rears combined with Deaver J66. My biggest complaint right now is how terribly the back end handles bumps. My leaf springs are dead flat.

    Thoughts?

o_O Where are you coming up with 1.1" of lift on the 3rd notch setting?

Sounds good for the use you described . Might want to consider billy 5160 s in the rear , a little more $ , but a huge improvement imho.

Sounds like a good plan. Add a Timbren industries Active off road bump stop to the rear and that helps tremendously to help harsh bumps when towing.

Think I was looking at 3rd Gen instructions. 2nd Gen is 1.75” at 3rd setting yes? Or I could go with OME 884 coils and get 1.5” with just the coil difference.

I’ve looked at those and that’s a great idea.

I’ve been considering the 6112/5160 combo as well.

I'm in the same boat with wanting just a mild lift. I just ordered the 5100s all around for mine with the 884s from @HeadStrong Off-Road.

Yup, 1.75" at the 3rd notch/groove for 2nd Gen. Is there a particular stance you're looking for as in truck sitting level or do you prefer some rake (i.e. 1", 2", etc.)?

I’m not trying to level the truck specifically, I’d just like to keep the rake I have now.

Originally I was going for 1” of loft all around specifically but apparently that’s not in the cards given the settings.

What’s your plan for lifting the rear? I would love to hear your outcome with the 884’s, was there stock and what was the price?

I would think the 2nd groove/notch at 0.85" (actually provides 1" or more lift) and that Deaver J66 would give you that ~1" all around lift you're looking for.

I was in the same situation. I have a Leer cap though. I ended up getting 5100’s front and rear with 884’s and Icon RXT leaf pack set on option 1. Once it settled out I have noticed that I still have a rake. It really feels solid.

Yeah since I posted I have read more about them and that was one of the points. The other was that they rust like crazy.

I’ve looked at the Icon RXT.

I wish I could find a great leaf pack that would improve the ride, give me 1” of lift, and not be designed for a heavy load.

The Dakar medium duty pack for example lifts 2”.

Definitely get the appropriate OME springs to pair with 5100s to achieve the lift you want up front. The ride up front will be far better than if you just used the adjustable 5100s to get the lift.

RXT’s are less than 2” unloaded on option 1 and if you decide you want more they come with an extra leaf. I don’t think they are as heavy duty as Dakars.

I think what’s always kept me away from the OME’s is reading that 5100’s are only designed for stock coils. And also reading all the people that say that the poorly rising preloaded coil thing is BS.

Yeah I think that’s exactly what they’re designed for.

    Really…

@AccuTune Offroad do you wanna jump in here? Got a spec for the amount of lift the Stage 1 RXTs provide?

Would also love to hear from anyone who’s installed those with no weight in the back.
