It’s pretty amazing to have them swim with the boat.

Keep in mind that dolphins will kill you harder than sharks. The vast majority of shark attacks are literally almost a bite and then they swim away. And it's very rare in the middle of the day.

Dolphins however... Dolphins are friendly. Until they're not. Then theyre grade A assholes lol

It's a shame but all that bad weather you're having too...

The dolphins here are nice. ;) We run across them regularly in the canals and in the sound.

I was curious, so I did some googling. The last, and only, reported fatal dolphin attack occurred in 1994. Meanwhile, sharks kill several humans annually.

And, I've never heard of sharks protecting people from dolphins. I realize that they don't often attack humans. They just freak me out.

Obviously, dolphins are powerful predators. But, I'll take my chances with a dolphin over a shark any day. :)

Oh same, I've just learned a thing or two about swimming with sharks and it's nowhere near scary as people make it out to be.

It does seem that they get a bad rap. It seems like sharks usually leave people alone if they don't see you as food.

I did have a huge hammerhead steal a Jack Crevalle from me last year while bridge fishing in the Keys, and I would have been absolutely terrified to be in the water with that one!

I also did read that dolphins do attack humans. It seems that some attacks could be reported as shark attacks as well, since most people wouldn't expect a dolphin to attack.

I'll keep everyone posted about this awful weather.

Or kick them in the nutz….sharks hate getting their nuts kicked. Of course, the trick is finding them when you’re in a hurry

I remember reading something along those lines…. Even that dolphins are capable of taking out Killer Whales.

I also remember reading that they are especially deadly (when they want to be) because they usually call their cousins over to the fight. When they decide something needs killing, they get the job done. I think humans get a pass because they might see us as kinda cool or interesting. Or they think our boats and ships are neat

PS, no offense intended to any killer whales reading this. I think it’s a properly descriptive name for how creative and brutal they are when killing. Orca just doesn't do them justice. I remember seeing a nature documentary not that long ago where a pod of killer whales stalked one blue whale and her calf. They followed the blues for days from what I recall. When they finally decided to kill, they just killed the calf, ate only it’s tongue, left the entire carcass floating, and just swam away. Damn.
