With the price of the new ones and everything else, I’m going to try and make mine last for as long as possible. It will be frakensteined together but it will be mostly working

No strange noises no clunkie bang bang...nothing. Blinks in 4 hi...blinks in 2 hi.
I'll go out in the am start it and it won't blink. If it sits for a while it stops whether in 2 or 4wd.

wonder if the actuator didn't freeze in place lol. does it roll in 4wheels or on 2?
I'm assuming it's only rear-wheel at the moment right?

It goes in and out of 4wd no problem, one can feel/know it.
Im assuming its something that isn't "thinking" its either in or out of 4wd.
I guess its off to the dealer ...warranty time.

Were you driving over 100 k/h? It wont engage unless under that speed.

Need some totally non Tacoma advice from you fabricators. I need a shelf to hang down from my fireplace mantel to hold my center speaker. I thought of making one out of sheet metal or aluminum. What I need to know is, how thick or thin would the metal need to be to be able to make the bends with only a bench vice and a hammer? Is there any chance I will be able to make the bends straight without a press brake? I'd also be cutting the metal with a grinder with a cutoff wheel. Am I delusional to think this will turn out to be something my wife will allow in our living room?

This is my idea for the shelf.

    upload_2022-2-19_9-15-31.jpg

    Any advice?

I would recommend using wood, metal will likely vibrate under certain conditions.
