No, with recirc turned on and the vehicle moving down the road there are enough gaps in the envelope that enough air moves through the cabin to be sufficient for at least a couple occupants to be ok. Sealing the vents entirely would cut down on that considerably though, and I suspect it would also reduce airflow when recirc is turned off since the displaced air has nowhere easy to go. It would be interesting to see back to back tests with an O2 meter and a pulse-oximeter in a few different scenarios to see the impact this mod has on real world O2/CO2 levels.

That would be an interesting test. I wouldn’t want to do something that would cause health issues. Maybe close them a bit when the kids get to wild. Lol just kidding

lol, there's already a technique for dealing with that. It's called Nyquil. I have noticed that when I run recirc for longer periods I feel more drowsy so I very rarely use it, mostly to quickly warm up or cool down when I first jump in, but that could easily be attributed to confirmation bias and really just be caused by driving a long distance and getting bored and tired.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
Some Audi Vehicles have an air quality sensor. When the traffic congestion and smog gets to be too much, the system closes the fresh air intake.

The control is on a timer. Regardless of air quality, fresh air returns when the timer expires.

There is a hint there. Those German automakers are not dumb.

Yeah it does kill it once you open the door.

There are only two negatives to it in my opinion. The fact that it only stays on for 15 minutes before shutting off, and that it turns off when I open the door. Grant it the first one could be a positive if I decide to not get in. The door stays locked of course so that's good.
But the fact that it's way cheaper and super easy to install than the alternatives made me go with it.

ok. I was curious because I have one that does the same. But I would have switched it if the N2 didn’t shut it down.

My last few Vw’s mentioned something about the climate control, and if you turned it off, you should open the windows. But what’s more important is I like this “mod” the foam one at least. I just pulled the back panel to make more room for activities. Found a cloth molle panel, now I’ve got to attach it

M3 delivered/assembled/modified/installed. Also de badged those huge sticker logos but put on the included small sticker instead.

Added a liberrway hitch tightener to give it extra stability and in my head alleviate some of that stress from the zero wobble bolt. With just the zero wobble attached it was solid but had slight movement but with both it is stout no movement.

Added 2 small bungees to keep the ramp from rattling.

With the front stop pushed all the way back in the last hole and the back stop in position it wouldn’t be a big enough gap for even a grom tire so drilled a new hole in the back stop to push it back enough- this was done to position the grom directly centered to the taco instead of being passenger side proud… makes all the difference in looks, equal load and taillight visibility. You can see the 2 added bolts that hold the back and front stop together above as well as the new hole for the center bolt moved up from the 3 available options. But I will instead plan on drilling another center hole, to replace the 2 added pan head bolts, that will secure the back/front stops together into the tube frame with a rivnut in the tube. I’ll add either their add on brake lights or come up with a different option for extra visibility (maybe some reflective tape on the ramp side edges since it’s proud on the drivers side. I can see maybe a couple inches stick past on the driver, none on the passenger).

I need ideas on locks/chains/best products, want to be able to secure the grom to the hitch that way it can’t be easily picked up by itself and is locked into the truck (not just the carrier).

test fit w/ buddies grom (plastics will be different/stock) before and after center shift

Its not the remote start the shuts off the engine on the door opening it's Toyota. There isn't a remote start made, not even by Toyota that will allow the engine to continue to run upon opening the door.

I have the gb40/case and I store it vertical on the passenger side with a torque wrench and tire repair kit (jumpers are still back there too, and when I get the courage/confidence I’ll remove the backups backup ) everything fits in place like a glove with no movement.

I have the N2 remote start in my 20 SR5, and it stays on when I open door, it will stop if key is not in the ignition and brake pedal is pressed.

Oh, wow. yeah, they got rid of the option to get the body separate but that would make it very nice as to eliminate all the space needed. Thats awesome about the fam member build. Sounds like a very well built car!

I have the N2 starter on my 2021 MT and the engine stays running after you open the door. The developer (Jimmy) specifically designed it to do so after hearing everyone’s displeasure with the factory remote start not leaving the engine running upon entry.

Make sure you find waterproof foam. The non moisture-absorbing type. Especially in humid climates.
You can imagine the nasty funk & mold that could accumulate (grow) over time...
