Yes, and players playing in bowl games. The best way to see it is by expanding the playoff to 6 - 8 teams.

 

No, I want more games that are closer. Teams 2-8 will be better games than teams 1-4 ever give us. At least give me something worth watching.

 

I'm for a 64+4 playoff starting in October. Don't worry about losing the 1st round because you'll always be able to jump in the consolation playoffs starting in November.

 

Let em all in the playoff. Just start it the first weekend of September. Every games a bowl game. Who needs the regular season? Lose 3 or 4 games? No big deal! Here’s a chance at the natty anyway.

As soon as it goes to 8, you’ll all whine becaUse the 9th and 10th place teams didn’t get a shot but they were a better team than they were when they lost 3 games early in the season.

4 teams is the right move. The way they’re selected may need to be reevaluated, but 4 teams is it.

 

Not really, but keep that poor setup energy up. The 4-team playoff is garbage and not a better model than the BCS.

 

The NIL seems to be spreading the talent wealth around so as soon as non SEC teams have natty success people will be happy. Talent tended to congregate to schools that offered the best chances for NFL money but now money can be made legally at any school with wealthy donors. Chasing NIL money at lesser football schools might inhibit NFL opportunities though.

IMO the downside of the playoffs is that it made the other bowls worthless in the eyes of some people and players. (Yes I understand that under the BCS you already knew who was playing for the national title, so I dont really see all the blame falling on the playoff format for this.)
Upside of the 4 team playoffs is that I believe that even though the first round each year has been mostly been onesided games, I do believe the correct national champions have been crowned, and hopefully the first round game helped to eleminate any doubt.
Would I like to an expension? Yes, I would in hope of bringing us the fans a few more (hopefully competitive) football games at the end of the season, that actually matter. It doesn't need to be a big expansion. To many teams water down the field and the resume of the regular season. What is the correct number? I dont know. One thing for certain, is that no matter the format, there will be a group of people not happy about it.
