OEM running boards OEM bed lights OEM all-weather mats OEM chrome exhaust tip Gator soft, tri-fold tonneau cover 265/75/16 BFG KO2s Removed “chin strap” AC drain extension Rear differential breather extension Bilstein 5100 rear shocks Bilstein 5100 front height-adjustable shocks set at second height OEM tailgate remote lock
I’ve been on TW saying that 265/70/16 is the best option for stock tacos because of gas mileage, risk of rubbing, and speedometer accuracy. Well, after trying to find 265/70/16s, I realized that most places only stock 265/75/16s and most taco owners go to that size as an aftermarket upgrade. So, I went to discount tire and they had 5 265/75/16 KO2s in stock and offered me a 10% discount if I used their card with same as cash for 9 months. So I caved and got 4 KO2s plus one for the spare (not good to mix diameters). I love them and the truck looks sick. Quiet on the highway and grippy when you need it. A little bit of roll resistance, but no more than expected. And zero rubbing.

I think 265/75r16s are the perfect size tire for a stock suspension Tacoma. They look a little more aggressive than stock and aren’t going to rub to bad if at all (unless you have mud flaps).

I like the KO2s a lot, they are good in the snow in my experience but I always fuck around in it so prolly not a great person to speak to their winter grip lol

Congrats on the shoes and good call on the matching spare!

I have the exact same truck also in SWFL, can you post a picture of a side shot that shows how far the tires are sunk into the fender wells without spacers? I am running the stock SR5 wheels and tires and want to upgrade to 267/75 but wondering if I should purchase spacers at the same time or if the wheels aren’t that far sunk in like the stock tires.

Thanks! Yeah spacers are definitely not ideal visually or mechanically and I would rather go with a proper offset wheel but the look of the stock SR5 dark grey on the cement paint has grown on me. I’m thinking about a 1.25” spacer all around and painting the chrome Toyota emblems black on 265/75.

Wish they would make that size KO2 in a C load. Does it ride stiff?

They look good. Report back with updates on road manners / noise / etc. Can't wait to upgrade my stock tires (SR5) but can't justify it until
it needs it, I'm not flush with cash.

Same here. I want a set of Michelin LTX AT2s but I can't justify taking off the stock Toyos with just over 5,000 miles on them. Also, the wife would have a fit if I dropped $1k on tires if the current ones didn't need to be replaced :)

I don’t understand this comment about the narrower tires being wider?

Now you just have to take off that cheesie air dam. Looks even sillier now that you got the KO2's.

They should be the same width as 265/70/16 just an 1" taller or 1/2" more ground clearance.
